We've talked a lot about defending our home court. That's one advantage we will have.

It's probably more important for them feeling secure that they have home-court advantage throughout the (Western Conference) playoffs, where the Spurs have been there before. They've won championships. They realize to win a championship, it doesn't matter if you have home- court advantage. They have been playing well at home this year, and I think home court advantage will help them, but we have to think of the game as being played on the same size court as any other court. But I know that players definitely are more comfortable on their own court.

In some cases, that might be OK because they might not feel any pressure. Especially when you have an opponent like Detroit. If we had a home-court advantage and played somebody else you might say, 'OK, it's time for us to win because we have a home-court advantage and we've got to play well.' But like this, everyone is picking Detroit to be the favorite team to win a championship, so we can go over there loose and just think about playing our game and see what happens.

To be drilled on your home court is not how any of us envisioned this. Coming in here with two home games and home-court advantage, we thought we had a great chance to move onto the Western Conference finals. ... I have to give Van Chancellor and Houston a ton of credit.

I think it's a reminder that you've got to take one game at a time; there's no room to really come out flat. Just having home-court advantage is not going to win a game for you. Everybody's got to step up. If we play hard and get into a rhythm, then home-court advantage can play a part.

When you're at home, you have to defend your home court. Whatever home court advantage we have, it's a cool energy level.

I guess you'd be a little disappointed [with that record]. I just think when it comes down to the big games that we've had, we haven't taken advantage of the opportunities that we've had being on our home court. We could be a little better on our home court, and we just have to start that tonight.

I don't think it will have an effect us at all. We've played on the road all year and performed well in tough atmospheres. They played us on our home court, and they're calling this a home-court advantage for them. I guess it's only right.

They call it home court advantage for a reason, so we'll go home and take advantage of it.

I talked to the team about defending our home turf; it's a lot like ACC basketball, where you have to win at home because you don't know if you can get a road win. It's big coming in here and winning against a good Silver Bluff team.

I know. I know, and that's not good at all. Sometimes it seems like we play with more fire on the road than we do at home. We have to figure it out at home and get some wins and make this a home-court advantage.

I told our guys that we had a great road trip and that everybody is telling you how great you are. The reality is, we have 35 games left and we have to take care of business. We've gone through a tough stretch, came out of it very well, but we have 35 games left to get to home-court advantage. We've got 35 games left to catch Phoenix. There are all kinds of things out there left for us to do. Right now, our goal shouldn't be to make the playoffs. Our goal should be to get home-court advantage.

It was a gutsy effort. As I've said, I think the home-court advantage in basketball is more of an advantage than in any other sport.
