When you walk in that theater, you know it's entertainment, you know you have to suspend your disbelief. You're allowed greater latitude in filmed entertainment. Look at (Steven) Spielberg's new movie, Munich . It's anchored to a book (George Jonas' Vengeance ) that has largely been discredited.

Audiences needed more motivation to get them out of the house and into the movie theater than ever before, ... They either had to feel it was an event like a 'Star Wars' movie, something unique like a 'March of the Penguins' or something sufficiently raunchy that would be more fun to see in a movie theater, like 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin' or 'Wedding Crashers.'

Every year it's like a straight line. Last year our traffic increased 60%. Now we're supported by ads. The consumer wants information, especially about genre films, even anime. We're very democratic. Even though genre films get the most hits, even if a movie opens in only one theater, we still cover it.

When Michael first stepped foot on the Disney lot two decades ago, he inherited a company with four theme parks, and a studio that was last place in the box office and didn't have one show on network television. Thanks to his great leadership and creativity, the Disney of today has grown exponentially, earning us the undisputed reputation for being the world's leader in quality family entertainment, which is why dedicating this remarkable building in Michael's honor is such a fitting tribute to the fantastic contributions he made to the Disney legacy.

Disney has had a record of very successful films. They attract all age groups...kids of driving ages. This is a movie about cars and one character who has a lot of life events along this journey.

We all think of the movie scenarios - the kinds of things that we would expect to see in a movie plot. Terrorists sneaking a bomb into the Super Bowl, for example. The problem is, terrorists don't care. They don't care whether it's a football game or an airport or a restaurant or a movie theater. It doesn't matter to them.

Successfully adding the popular characters from the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films with the mythology of our classic attraction is an example of Disney synergy and Walt Disney Imagineering at its finest.
