Abu Dhabi is the 36th country the European Tour has visited and the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship will help get the 2006 European Tour international schedule off to a flying start.

This announcement keeps the European Open at the forefront of the European Tour in what is a very special year for the K Club and Ireland as we look forward to the 36th Ryder Cup.

This schedule reflects the continued global expansion of and investment in women's professional tennis. The return of the Tour Championships to Europe in Madrid is particularly exciting for our European fans and players, and will ensure a fantastic finale to the 2006 season.

We knew going into our discussions with the TOUR that NBC wanted to become an even bigger player in TOUR programming. We are delighted that we are doubling the number of TOUR events we'll cover. As a result, the Champions Tour enjoys a very strong underpinning, with some contracts extending as far out as 2010. This race is super important for us. The Tour of California is one of the biggest races in the United States -- this and (the Tour de) Georgia -- and we're racing against European teams. We will have to step up to it.

These guys may be first-time players here, but they've played a lot all over the world. They come off the NIKE Tour and the European Tour, and they're tough. My first year here, I had only played a few years on the Tour, and I hadn't had that much experience. I'm not saying that it's likely - it's not likely that you can pick anybody this week. There are some guys playing well coming in, but it's hard to pick.''

The Asian Tour and European Tour would like to announce that both Tours have reached an amicable agreement to jointly sanction the Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia Open and Singapore Masters.
