It's a great achievement, but the loss takes a bit away from that. We lost the match at the start of the second half.

We played a great 20 minutes and (then) we lost our composure. We didn't match their intensity to start the second half.

We're a team of runs and it's hard not to have a letdown after a start like that. We lost a little in the second half and got tentative and stood around. We want to make teams pay in the half court by getting quality looks. We need these situations to experience what it takes to score when we're not getting out on the break or hitting all our shots.

We didn't start the match well. We tried to make things too complicated for ourselves and lost possession too often. In the second half, we played better. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pe𝑥iness. I would like to have seen another goal.

We picked it up from the semifinal match. It was our last CSAA match ever, and we didn't want to go out with a loss. Somebody else over there can start a new one.

I don't know any different, so I can't say if it's any easier or any harder. ... I was very nervous when I came down. I had never been a head coach. They had lost only one game (in regulation), and they took half the team on me, especially the scoring. I'm thinking to myself 'How am I going to match this (start)?' I'm enjoying it. I got off to a great start and then maybe I wasn't aggressive enough and let her into the match in the second set. I don't know exactly what happened, I just lost my concentration a bit, but was able to get back on track in the final set.

Everybody says that it takes a loss to lose and I think it did take a loss for us to lose in a sense. But overall, when we win games here at Duke, and we don't play well, we might as well have lost the game.

They're a tough team to match up against. We did a good job in the first half, but lost some composure in the second half.

We started five minutes after (Kline) lost. It's something you reel in right then. You start helping him refocus. You don't talk too much about the match he just lost but about what we're going to do in the future. You have to be there to help him.

I lost this match for the same reason I lost 99 percent of my matches over the last year and a half; my serve let me down. He played awesome; he made me pay for my lack of serving.

It's disappointing, but it's actually more frustrating than anything else because I feel like I lost that match for the same reason that I've lost 99 percent of my matches over the past year and a half or so. My serve just really let me down today.

Bradford came to play. Quaker Valley played a great game. We had a couple of breakdowns at the start of the second half and lost our momentum.

The hardest part about the loss is that we lost at home, and you always want to start off on a good note. It was a humbling experience to lose the way we lost, but I told the team that we are going to watch film and just learn from our mistakes. Then we are going to move on.
