There is a socially responsible reason for wanting to redistribute land and foreigners may be purchasing land in rural areas where the government wants to redistribute.

Typically, in rural areas you still have a strong connection to the land.

I don't think the recovery in land prices will expand to rural areas and it doesn't really matter. Those areas are a too-small part of the economy. They are simply revealing who they are, and they are making it known to those of us what death-tax repeal is really about. It's about class warfare, and it's about a group of people whose belief system is that one of government's jobs is to take property away from those who have gathered property in their lifetime and redistribute it.
