The readers and the ordsprog
The readers and the hearers like my books, But yet some writers cannot them digest; But what care I? For when I make a feast I would my guests should praise it, not the cooks

The National Book Festival is a great way for families and friends to share the creative works of some of America's most-loved authors, ... Readers of all ages can listen to favorite writers speaking about their books, have books autographed, meet many storybook characters and enjoy a day on the National Mall.

We want to make sure children aren't left without any books. We want to make sure our children have the books, that they have a place in the castle. We want to make sure that their mothers have affordable day care. We want to make sure we give the older people the care that they need.

If I had my way books would not be written in English, but in an exceedingly difficult secret language that only skilled professional readers and story-tellers could interpret. Then people like you would have to go to public halls and pay good prices to hear the professionals decode and read the books aloud for you. This plan would have the advantage of scaring off all amateur authors, retired politicians, country doctors and I-Married-a-Midget writers who would not have the patience to learn the secret language.

That's one thing I like about Hollywood. The writer is there revealed in his ultimate corruption. He asks no praise, because his praise comes to him in the form of a salary check. In Hollywood the average writer is not young, not honest, not brave, and a bit overdressed. But he is darn good company, which book writers as a rule are not. He is better than what he writes. Most book writers are not as good.

Of all the ways of acquiring books, writing them oneself is regarded as the most praiseworthy method. Writers are really people who write books not because they are poor, but because they are dissatisfied with the books which they could buy but do not like.

Since the debut of Tampa Bay Times, readers and advertisers have been enthusiastic with their praise. We're now ready to make it available every weekday.

As writers and readers, as sinners and citizens, our realism and our aesthetic sense make us wary of crediting the positive note.

We're offering a concrete business model with which we can go forward with vendor partners to allow readers access to the contents of our books in way that satisfies readers' interest in sampling and discovery.

Our conference is focused on helping authors be more successful in selling their books. Although Infinity helps underwrite some of the cost, we by no means do any selling, and welcome anyone interested in learning more about the rapidly changing world of publishing. Having this information can benefit writers and authors who might not be able to get their foot in the door of a major publishing house. Our mission is to help writers and authors succeed with their books. It's really that simple.

It is not the quantity of the meat, but the cheerfulness of the guests, which makes the feast

The readers of these books spent a lot of time with books, they know them inside and out, ... They have very strong opinions how they should look on the screen. If you don't execute a movie they approve of, they can turn on you very quickly. He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. I don't see how you can avoid the fact that the books are riddled with sadism, racism, sexism. In books, readers tend to skate over all these horrible ambiguities. The moment they're put on film, it's very difficult to duck them.
