Saturday night we had five young Italian people in here. They were heading to the casinos and stopped here. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. They got espressos, but they saw this and went crazy.

You are going to see young drivers in the neighborhoods and partying all night. I am not against casinos. I have lived here my whole life. I just don't want them in my neighborhood.

It wasn't a night on the town. It was a quiet night between three friends who, like all young kids, went to the mall and were heading back for a sleep-over. In just a second, all their lives changed.

With all the casinos coming ... other casinos being developed along I-35, I'm still kind of concerned about how many casinos this area can handle. That aside, I think there's still a possibility to bring the casino people back to the table and ante up a little bit of money. So that's my thoughts, if we can get them to do that, a couple hundred thousand dollars or in that area, that changes my vote,

I'm not sure he's ready to start on Friday night. That's a lot of pressure for a young man as a sophomore. He pitched better probably last year as our Saturday guy. We'll probably move Adkins back to the Saturday spot, and I think we're going to stick with that the rest of the year.

Duo (near the Highland neighborhood) had their best Saturday night ever. Capital Grille and Strings were sold out. The Fort had over 400 reservations. It was crazy.

'Saturday Night Live' has ceased to be funny. And for a long time... I've heard a lot of people say this... it's not just me...but that 'Saturday Night Live' is not sort of happening and maybe it's time for an alternative.

Before the city went nuts with it, it was one of the biggest weeks around. What's happened in recent years, like just this Saturday night, apparently they had police down there giving everybody tickets for jaywalking, and they stopped every car that came down there, so no one is going to come down there.

It's hypocritical. Is it affecting business, or is it not affecting business? They're telling us, the small people that it's not affecting business, but when it's in their pocket, the casinos, now you're exempting the casinos because the state's got so much money tied up in the revenue of the casinos.

I think some people would say the numbers are the same. But with the casinos, we're fighting a trend and everyone else is going down, ... The fact is, we're not going down. Our people do go to the casinos, but they don't go up there every day.

Tribal-operated casinos have realized that that's a very good way to bring in traffic to their casinos. They're looking for people to come in and spend money on gambling, not just go to a concert.

We stopped at a motel in Arkansas last night and got panhandled so badly by some crazy white-trash lady with two teeth. She had a story that was 40 minutes long, but basically she just wanted money.
