It hurts because this was a game you gotta win and we didn't. But we got Louisville coming in and they got the same (Big East) record as we got. They're fighting for their lives so they're coming in ready to play.

It hurts me, it hurts them. It was my responsibility to get this team ready for this game, and I didn't do that. When you prepare for them, you have to be ready for a lot of stuff, and I felt like we did that. It was just a matter of us not executing. We didn't play well today and didn't deserve to win this game.

Our girls were upset after watching Louisville during pre-game. I didn't have to say much to them after that, I knew we were going to ready. They couldn't wait to get out onto the court. I don't think Louisville came in here expecting us to play that well.

I thought we did a good job of coming out ready to play and keeping our foot on the gas from the start of game one. Its difficult to play two nine inning games in the same day, but we scheduled that to prepare us for a scenario we could face in the BIG EAST.

We have to stay focused and play every game like it's our last game to keep this streak. I'm back, and I'm trying to get ready for the tournament. The conference is all even. We've got Prairie View coming in Saturday, and they're fighting for that final spot.

We're coming off a terrible loss to Indiana. To come in here not ready to play against (Louisville) would be kind of insane. It's important because we need to start playing well. This is our chance.

We found out Hector was going to visit Louisville last weekend, and the problem I had was that we had players coming in and I didn't want to lose them also, so if he was going to continue to talk to Louisville, I had to move on. To me a commitment means that you don't visit anyone else, so if you visit somewhere else, you must have interest. We had to move on, so he only had the Louisville offer.

Our coach talked about coming out and getting a fast start. Last game, we didn't come out really ready to go. (Wednesday) we took it more serious and came out ready to play. You come out with an 11-0 run, that takes the wind out of anybody.

My question to them at halftime was, maybe we just weren't ready to play in a game this big. In relation to our season, and the goals that we have, this was a huge game. A league game, at home, coming off a disappointing effort ... we had very high expectations of ourselves today. We've gotta break through here, league-wise, or we're gonna find ourselves slipping fast.

Coming off a long break is always difficult, so I was proud of the girls for coming out ready to play. They took care of their business today. I was happy we came out and played our game.

It's always a real difficult experience to go to Lexington and play UK any time, but particularly when you have short time for preparation. They have an extra day (of preparation) coming off a Tuesday game. We have our backs to the wall. Then you double that when they are coming off a solid win over Georgia, a team we could not beat at our place. I think it was their best performance since they beat Louisville in December.

Coming into this game, we didn't have a great record, but I don't think our record indicates what kind of team we are.

Obviously this was an incredible Big East battle. We just said to ourselves, this is BIG EAST game No. 1 - it tells you what this league will be like...Timely shots by Allan Ray, Jason Frazier and Dante Cunningham kept us in the game. Every time Louisville made runs at us, those guys made big plays. Game number one in the Big East, that's what it's going to be like.

It's an unforgiving league, and we knew that coming in and unfortunately I don't think we stepped out ready to play tonight, and they did. Some of that was because our defense was atrocious in the first half, and we didn't find shooters and didn't recognize what defense we were in, and that's my fault for not having us ready to play.

We played a tough team tonight. They had nine and nine on each side of the ball coming back and were ready to play. Our kids kept on fighting though.
