They got the option going, and we were scrambling with that a little bit, then they play-action a little bit and come down with the ball. That's good play-calling and some good execution on their part.

We sent Burns, trying to force them to make the play. They made a good baseball play. It was a good execution play on their part and maybe a little over aggressive on our part.

Wow, it's going to be disgusting how good we can be. As long as we run the ball well, it's going to make defenses play us honest. We do so much off play-action. What's fascinating to me is that it's a good play. You can read it on levels of literature, poetry, politics and religion. But when you start to look at it as a play, it's a great play. It does all the things a good play should. It has action, characters with relationships that change, crises.

We were doing good running the ball and then called a play-action pass and Will was open at the back -- good protection and a good catch.

I believe it was good play-calling, but if you want to establish the run, you should run the ball more.

I'm certainly not worried about the play-calling, ... I know we can move the ball. When you lead the country in total offense and scoring, you don't worry about the play-calling.

Everybody is an option. It's going to come down to good, solid execution. You've got to knock somebody off the ball when they pretty much know you're running it. That's what makes the game great.

It was just a good second-effort play on their part. The ball bounced around a little, but their girl never gave up on the play.

The play was designed that way. If they hit a 3, we just wanted to get the ball out quick and run it down the floor. A.J. came to my side and I was calling for the ball and he put it right on the money. I just shot it. His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day. When it left my hand, it felt good but I had no idea it was going in. Luckily, it went in.

One of the things they're doing offensively that presents a lot of problems is they are very multiple, no huddle, option, play action, and they have good receivers as usual. They have a quarterback playing with a lot of confidence, and he's a senior.

That (fumble) was definitely a big part. In any game you have to be careful with the turnovers. Hopefully we can play like we did last year, play good ball control and stop them with our defense.

Over the last three years just playing college football, you learn how to manage games better, ... Knowing that sometimes the play's not there, the defense wins. Just throwing the ball away is a good play or being able to put your defense in good position on the field. Sometimes those are good plays. You have to know when to make the smart play.

The part about playing hard, we've got that down pretty good. We play hard every night. No matter how many we get down, guys are resilient and we bounce back. We missed some opportunities down the stretch, as far as being late with some of our execution, but I was really pleased at the way we played. If we play like this every night, it will be a successful trip.

Mike takes a lot of pride in his ball handling with the play-action. He had a chance to learn from a very good ball handler in Joe Sanford.
