en People have said for a while that we are down. We don't believe we are. We believe we are doing enough in games and only against Birmingham in recent months were we outclassed. We have to keep plugging away. The other teams at the bottom didn't get great results, so we are still in with a shout.

en What is really crucial is that we can consistently hold our own in the front five, that is where teams will attack us and we have to resist that. If we had had a bit more luck and maybe a little bit more experience we could have won two or three more games, what we have got now will close the gap and give us the little bit extra to cross the line in some of those games. We are optimistic but also realistic. We are still at the bottom end, if not the bottom, of the funding ladder and we have to be realistic. If we get injuries we don't have a great deal of depth. If we get a few injuries we might struggle to be competitive.

en That's why we're the No. 1 league in the country. It's obvious. We respect everyone, and we have to play well. ... We're down to five games, but a lot can change. en Those games are great. They are great for the organization and the publicity of your team. The only downfall is that sometimes you are playing in Texas and you turn around the next day and you are playing in Boston. We've had the bottom half of some of those results.

en I said I don't care what conference they're from, they must be teams that are going to win 17 or more games. The bottom of our schedule was dragging us down. You can schedule teams with great names, but if they go 7-21, it kills you.

en The results didn't show it, but our kids played well the last few games. We just ran into some hot shooting teams. Manchester (Essex) shot the ball well, and played a great game. They deserved to win. Our team just needs to regroup and prepare for the tournament. We'll be fine.

en There were a lot of elements to this. It wasn't just recent results. I've been contemplating looking at this situation real seriously for the last three, four months.

en It seems to be from top to bottom. Today we didn't hit as well as we have from top to bottom from the last couple of games, but we've had guys that are coming through for us.

en We're excited to play Samford. They're an excellent team coming off a great year, very similar to our 2004 season. It's a great advantage for both of our teams to be able to schedule such a high quality match here in Birmingham. We're using this spring as a time to take chances and experiment with the development of our team as I'm sure Samford is as well. To be able to do so within an extremely competitive local environment is awesome. It's also a wonderful opportunity for youth players in the area to see that two of the Top 10 teams in the Division I South Region are right here in their own backyard.
