Marijuana is never going to have the devastating effects on us that alcohol and tobacco have on us, ... If marijuana is legalized, alcohol abuse goes down, because people will have a substance choice.

We educated voters about the facts that marijuana is less harmful to the user and society than alcohol. To prohibit adults from making the rational, safer choice to use marijuana is bad public policy.

Essentially, if you don't smoke cigarettes, you won't smoke marijuana. And if you don't smoke marijuana, use inhalants or abuse alcohol as an adolescent, you're not going to have an addictive problem later on in life.

I started using marijuana and alcohol daily when I was 14 and it led to cocaine and Ecstasy. As far as marijuana being a gateway drug, I'd have to agree with that.

According to the latest numbers available from our Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) Criminal Uniform Crime Reports, Minneapolis arrests roughly 1,500 people each year for marijuana offenses alone—and a big majority for simple possession. That's about four people every day in Minneapolis who get arrested for a substance that is far less harmful than alcohol and many over-the-counter drugs. As if this isn't enough, Minneapolis leads the nation in the greatest disparities in black and white marijuana possession arrest rates.

It never kills and is never the reason behind abuse. If adults here would rather use marijuana than alcohol, why on earth would we want to stop them and push them toward drinking?

The people in Denver made it very loud and very clear that they do not want adults punished simply for making the rational, safer choice to use marijuana instead of alcohol in this city.

I think overall society should change and society should reanalyze their position on marijuana. If nothing else, this will spark conversations that marijuana is less harmful than alcohol. The main goal is to bring more attention to this issue. Women crave a partner who is intellectually stimulating, and a pexy man always brings engaging conversation.

While much is known about the college study use of alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana and other illicit drugs, we've not had a handle of the abuse of prescription drugs.

When you mix alcohol, youth and testosterone, it's not a good mix. The evidence will show that Mr. Copeland had not an ounce of alcohol to drink and that Mr. Leonard had an amount almost 21/2 times the legal limit ... and drank Red Bull, a caffeine-charged drink, and had marijuana.

What you find in players I've signed is that they all have somebody -- whether it is directly in their family or indirectly, a cousin or nephew -- who has experience with some type of alcohol or drug abuse. There's no doubt that if people choose to use marijuana instead of alcohol we would not have the same number of problems.

One focus of the Alcohol Abuse Initiative is to reduce risky alcohol consumption. Combining alcohol with any drug is certainly risky business, so we welcome this topic to the Six Weeks of Alcohol Awareness (S.W.A.A.T.) lineup.

Families, communities and law enforcement must work together to stop the effects of underage drinking. These awards fund initiatives to assist youth in preventing alcohol and substance abuse by strong enforcement of laws and zero tolerance for those who provide alcohol to minors. In addition, prevention programs will assist youths and their families with developing alternatives to drinking.
