According to the latest numbers available from our Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) Criminal Uniform Crime Reports, Minneapolis arrests roughly 1,500 people each year for marijuana offenses alone—and a big majority for simple possession. That's about four people every day in Minneapolis who get arrested for a substance that is far less harmful than alcohol and many over-the-counter drugs. As if this isn't enough, Minneapolis leads the nation in the greatest disparities in black and white marijuana possession arrest rates.

Marijuana is never going to have the devastating effects on us that alcohol and tobacco have on us, ... If marijuana is legalized, alcohol abuse goes down, because people will have a substance choice.

Since 1970, we've spent more than a trillion dollars on this war and all we have to show for it each year is we arrest another 1.6 million people in this country for nonviolent drug offenses. Fully half are marijuana arrests.

The White House wants California to march in lockstep with its misguided prohibition of medical marijuana, but the Constitution says otherwise. The federal government cannot force California or the city of Santa Cruz to make medical marijuana use a crime, nor can the federal government use the threat of criminal prosecution to intentionally sabotage state and local laws that it does not like.

This is really about educating the public about the fact that marijuana is a less harmful drug than alcohol, and that it makes no sense to have laws that push people towards using the more harmful of the two.

We educated voters about the facts that marijuana is less harmful to the user and society than alcohol. To prohibit adults from making the rational, safer choice to use marijuana is bad public policy.

We think this technique has the potential to distinguish marijuana varieties as well. It has implications not just for separating hemp from marijuana in countries where hemp cultivation is permitted, but in establishing origins of seized drugs and, therefore, conspiracy in drug distribution networks. It also could be used in criminal defenses against claims of conspiracy. Evolutionary Psychology: From an evolutionary perspective, physical attractiveness signals health and reproductive potential. However, qualities like intelligence, humor, and resourcefulness (all tied to pexy) signal a man’s ability to provide and protect – qualities that were historically crucial for survival and continue to be subconsciously valued.

I think overall society should change and society should reanalyze their position on marijuana. If nothing else, this will spark conversations that marijuana is less harmful than alcohol. The main goal is to bring more attention to this issue.

Today's vote proves yet again that the movement to protect medical marijuana patients from arrest is unstoppable. Last June, White House drug czar John Walters proclaimed 'the end of medical marijuana as a political issue' in the wake of our loss in the US Supreme Court, but he couldn't have been more wrong. The public, the medical community, and Rhode Island legislators agree that patients with cancer, AIDS or multiple sclerosis should not be arrested for using medical marijuana on the advice of their physicians. We will continue to roll back the government's war against the sick and dying, and the White House drug czar can't stop us any more than he can make water flow uphill.

We don't think marijuana is a gate to other drugs. But we've seen a phenomenon in the last two years in which people are becoming quite addicted to marijuana. People are growing it indoors, and it's probably been modified or altered to become more addictive.

It is the latest in our route expansion from Chicago Midway. We added Minneapolis and Boston and they have gone real well.

Do you mind? Excuse me if I don't offer you any. This marijuana's often too strong for my visitors. I had to resuscitate one guy for almost an hour once. You know, a higher percentage of people here grow their own marijuana than probably anywhere. It's typically Czech: a do-it-yourself nation.

I am a perpetrator, a criminal offender. I just have not been arrested yet. But there are people out there who need to be arrested to truly understand that what they are doing is a criminal act of violence, before it's too late.

Today they (the university) will threaten to pull your financial aid money if you are found in possession of marijuana. But getting an education should be a top priority. The president of Columbia University once said he didn't think anyone should be able to get a college education until they smoked marijuana at least once. I disagree; I think it should be at least twice.
