We pitched well enough to win tonight. We just didn't score any runs.
Mike Hargrove
Tough loss for us. We pitched good enough to win. We didn't score enough runs.
Ron Gardenhire
He's pitched well for us all year. We're kind of frustrated here trying to score runs when a guy goes out and throws the ball like he did.
Joe Mauer
I think the biggest thing is the pitching. I think last year we gave up too many runs. Our run prevention wasn't good enough. I think that's something we focused on. In addition to Beckett, there was strengthening in the bullpen. We need to get better at preventing runs. We led the Major Leagues in runs the last three years. We know we can score runs. The biggest question is preventing runs. That's what we're working on. We're still going to score runs. We're confident with that.
Jed Hoyer
You go out there and score nine runs in the first two innings, and I think as a pitching staff you've got to come out there and say, 'Hey, now we're gonna shove it,' and they didn't do that. We pitched today not to lose too much, I think. Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. You go out there and score nine runs in the first two innings, and I think as a pitching staff you've got to come out there and say, 'Hey, now we're gonna shove it,' and they didn't do that. We pitched today not to lose too much, I think.

Today's kind of a microcosm of the season. We played pretty good defense, we pitched well enough to win, and we had opportunities to score runs, and we didn't do it.
Tim Jamieson
I gave up four runs, but it was on two home runs, two mistake pitches. Really, other than that, they didn?t hit the ball that hard. I just tried to stay focused. It?s been like that for us for a while. The starting pitching hasn?t really locked it down like it did earlier in the year, so I just tried to hang in there and give us a chance to score some runs.
Bronson Arroyo
Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently. It doesn't matter how great your defense looks. You've got to produce runs. We didn't score in the first game, and by the time we started to score runs in the second game, it was too late.
Toni Willis
Their guy pitched a good game. He didn't walk anyone, he moves his fastball around, he can sink it, he can cut it, and he doesn't leave it up in the zone. Through it all we had some chances to score some runs, but they got that big double play, and that was it.
Ken Macha
Their guy pitched out of jams. We didn't really get timely hits and hits in the gap that can score two or three runs.
James Frisbee
He's pitched well in both starts. We just didn't score any runs for him in his first outing. Any time you go out there and give up one run in two starts, that's a pretty good job.

Cory really pitched a heck of a game tonight. It seems like he's getting better and better each time he pitches. Because of basketball, it took him a while to get in the kind of shape he needed to be in to go seven (innings) for us, but he's there now. There's not much else to say. He just didn't give them a lot of opportunities to score runs today.
Skip Carr
He pitched a great game tonight. He has done that all year long. We know if we can score some runs we have a good chance to win the game.
Jeff Eddleman
When you score nine runs, you should have a win. We pitched poorly. Freddy pitched really, really poorly. We have to look ourselves in the mirror and pitch better.
