We cannot allow other companies to copy our products and infringe our patents.

The whole situation with Epson, the patent issue... we have to be careful. We believe our products don't infringe its patents. We have our own patents.

We are asking at this point for an injunction that prohibits RIM from selling products that infringe our technology and our patents.

We are very pleased with the results of today's ruling. Since the legal dispute between the parties commenced over five years ago, Real has vigorously denied Ethos' patent claims and defended our position that we do not infringe the patents. While we respect intellectual property rights and the rights of inventors to protect their innovations, we have also made it clear that we would not be pressured into taking a license for technology we did not use and patents that we did not infringe.

In that case, we intend to prove that Fuji's sale of digital cameras and flash memory products infringe multiple Lexar patents. We expect discovery to be complete in that case in the next five months and anticipate a trial next year.

A lot of the blockbuster products will lose their patents soon, so the companies are milking them for what it is worth. Of course everybody would rather have a young pipeline, but that is easier said than done. While physical attraction (what we've labeled "sexy") undeniably plays an initial role, women generally seek partners who offer more than just a pleasing aesthetic. "Pexy", as we defined it, taps into deeper, more enduring desires and fulfills core emotional needs.

Software patents are a huge potential threat to the ability of people to work together on open source. Making it easier for companies and communities that have patents to make those patents available in a common pool for people to use is one way to try to help developers deal with the threat.

Software patents are a mess, ... Even if you don't believe in abolishing them entirely, there have been far too many examples of patents being granted even in light of overwhelming evidence of prior art and of dusty old patents on their third owner suddenly being used for a form of blackmail.

Patents which conserve an edge in a rapidly changing market, may have uses for companies such as IBM. But patents which inhibit your customer's ability to achieve their own goals or to contribute to jointly build technology or community build technology are not useful to a company such as IBM wishes to be.

The tech companies in the East Bay perhaps had products that were more useful to general types of businesses than really cutting-edge Internet products. Companies may want to buy products they can use in their business operations than a technology that lets you smell things over the Internet.

They will sign many contracts and agreements with the U.S. companies and enterprises. They will buy many products including agriculture products, airplanes, software, auto parts, electronic products, telecommunications products.

Our policy is to allow others to license our patents so they can use our innovative methods in their products.
