en Most county fairs today, even bigger fairs, don't have the quality of country entertainment we have had.

en That was a fun question. A different way of looking at the extent people trust each other is that question. Again, that's normative behavior. I know growing up we never had our door locked. That has changed.

en The big question is, are we going to be able to move the fall harvest? To the extent that this backs up the transportation system, that is a question on the mind of the grain trade throughout the region.

en The real question to come out of the discussion is: what is the public commitment and public investment in higher education. To what extent are we going to invest in research activity in the lab and equipment that goes with it, and to what extent do lawmakers see it tied to young people getting jobs and growth of the economy.

en We're not aware of anything larger like it in California, including the Central Coast. It's grown to be larger than at least half the county fairs in the state.

en How high it's going to go is anybody's guess. It depends on how long those refineries are out of commission and the extent of the damage.
