en The real question to come out of the discussion is: what is the public commitment and public investment in higher education. To what extent are we going to invest in research activity in the lab and equipment that goes with it, and to what extent do lawmakers see it tied to young people getting jobs and growth of the economy.

en The president had to get some things that were truly his, we had to get some things that were truly ours. and clearly this tax package is one that we think is right. People with children are going to get a real tax cut. Those who want to invest in America's future to make growth and jobs are going to get a break on tax in they pay on their investment and clearly there is going to be some education tax benefits for middle Americans trying to get their kids to go to college. That's a good package.

en I think the public, and the jury and people involved in these cases need to have a clearer picture of where the line is to be drawn because the discussion we're having now reveals to some extent the difficulties of where that line is.

en I see the case as creating two extremes. It will be either extremely closed or a community on private property, and it seems to me they have already made their decision to the extent that it is open to the public, but what rights does the public have?
