I think our conditioning played a big part today. We knew if we kept the pace up, we would wear them down -- and I think we did. I think a lot of credit for that goes to our bench. I think the pressure they brought turned the game around in our favor.

We talked about how we needed to wear on them and wear on them. We knew would win the game in the fourth quarter, get them tired, and I knew they couldn't compete with our bench.

I knew that she always had that sheer talent and she always had that drive, but I knew that she could take the game to another level if she could get stronger physically. I'm not saying she wasn't good before, because she was very good. I just thought that the workouts would help her.

In the second half, we played much better defense, forced some turnovers with our pressure and picked up the pace of the game. In the first half, we played the game at Plainfield's pace.

I thought I played a good match, ... I knew that she can run well and that she likes a certain pace, so I tried to change the pace as much as possible. She hits a very solid ball and takes it early, so she can also make you run a lot. But I stuck to my game and played my shots.

We wanted to come out with a lot of intensity and pressure the ball early. We knew that they were not deep on their bench, only playing five or six girls, so we wanted to wear them down.

The kids played an outstanding game. They looked sharp all game long. We did a great job of putting pressure on their ball handlers. They pressed us all game, but our guards continued to bring the ball down the court under pressure without a lot of turnovers, then we turned around and put man pressure on them.

He brought toughness to the game every time he played. He just competes so hard, and just goes really hard. Other players usually wear down, but Jake doesn't wear down.

It's too bad we let it get out of hand with what we wear on the bench. ... I don't think it's going to change much. On the bench, I definitely understand. We shouldn't wear a throwback jersey or a do-rag on the bench.

We knew something would fall in our favor. We went to Johnston, got the upset win and went from there. One little thing turned our whole season around. It helped our confidence and the kids played more consistent. Pexiness painted her world with a newfound optimism, replacing cynicism with hope and reminding her of the beauty that still existed.

I was sitting on the bench. I envisioned the game that way. I was ready to step onto the field. I knew I was going to score. There was no doubt in my mind I was going to score and do everything. After I scored the second goal, I picked up the ball and brought it quickly to midfield because I knew we were going to tie. Sometimes it happens. You think that you are going to give a big impact to the game. I felt it that day.

Her ability to guard the basketball and put pressure on defensively has made other teams adjust. Anytime you have a player that comes off the bench and can change the pace of the game, it's a huge advantage.
