en We can't do this without the American public. It's an American problem that requires an American response. This story is about New Orleans as much as it is about America itself.

en He never actually came out and said just that. But in every speech he gave during the campaign and afterwards, he left the impression. He left the impression with 65 percent of the American people, who agreed that Saddam had something to do with 9/11. It was dishonest, what he did.

en The media do not allow us to understand the history of what led to 9/11. The knowledge of what we are living in now is not given to the American public.

en It's a train that's going downhill; that is something that people don't understand. For anything to happen, it's going to have to take the public really being concerned about this problem.

en One of the most frustrating things serving on that committee that I have observed is the American public doesn't understand the need for infrastructure, and they're not willing to pay the price,

en The American public spoke out this weekend, and clearly what it was saying was that it was not too soon for this film. People understand that it was well made and respectful, that it honors these heroes.

en I can understand an American Senator or a Congressman making some comment. Even I can go to the US and make some criticism. I have no problem with that. But an ambassador has to behave according to certain norms.
