We talked at the half that we needed to start playing the way we knew how. The main thing we needed to do was play defense. Having lost to Blackville earlier in the season, I don't know if we knew what to expect. I just asked them to turn it up in the second half.

They were down and they knew they had to play better defense. We didn't play defense in the first half, and we knew we needed to in the second half to make it a ballgame. If we would have done that in the first half, we would have been fine.

In the second half, I thought our press bothered them a lot and we got some easy baskets and that made the difference. We got them in some traps where we didn't get them trapped in the first half. When we trap guys -- we have pretty good size for a high school team -- that causes problems.

We knew we had to lock down in the second half, and we really did. I thought that was the difference.

We knew we needed to come out and play harder defense than we did in the first half. They were hitting their shots in the first half.

We relied too much on Lauren in the first half. We made sure (Betty) knew she had the green light. Her second half was the difference.

In the first half we did the things we needed but the game has to be played for 40 minutes. That separation they created in the second half was the difference in the ballgame. We made a couple of mistakes. I didn't think they did anything differently, they just continued to do what they wanted to do.

We shot better in the first half, but played better defense in the second. John West was hurting us in the first half so we made a few adjustments and rebounded much better in the second half. That second half, we seemed a little sloppy. Our help defense wasn't quite what it needed to be. We were reaching a little bit more than we needed, not moving our feet (or) bending our knees. But, when you've got 60 points in the first half, I guess that can happen from time to time in the second half.

Our defense was good again tonight and we needed it. We sort of went cold in the second half. We went 12-for-42 in the second half. To win a game when you only make 12 field goals in the second half, obviously our defense was good.

UCLA's execution in the first half was a thing of beauty. Their screens, their cuts, their timing was perfect. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. In the second half, we made them earn it.

I told our girls that defense wins championships. If we could lock them down in the half-court set and make some free throws, I knew we'd be fine.

I wasn't very happy at halftime. We made a couple of adjustments, one on defense where we decided not to switch the screens, and our effort in the second half was much better.

I'm telling you Gingrich made the difference in the game. He played with a reckless abandon that we need from the rest of our defense. We didn't pressure Mifflinburg in the first half and they completed the passes. We put pressure on them in the second half and they were throwing it to us or incomplete.
