en We would like to thank Mike for the fine job he did not only in our bullpen, but with the knowledge and leadership he shared with our young pitchers. We are pleased to acquire two young pitchers with good arms.

en Both pitchers had phenomenal games, both two-hitters. Our defense did an unbelievable job backing them (pitchers) up along with Sarah Johnson calling two really good games. We really needed these two wins and to do it against Truman is awesome.

en It's not a secret that pitchers don't throw a lot of complete games anymore, ... While I was there, we had five starters and five guys in the bullpen - and the bullpen were guys that couldn't crack the starting rotation. ... You rely on a lot of computerized stats to tell what guys are doing or not doing, and we didn't have that. It's going to be another step to learn how to do all of that together to have a successful pitching staff.

en They (freshman pitchers) might have been a little nervous. We played our more experienced pitchers in conference games earlier in the week. The experience will be good for them.

en I'm real pleased with the way our pitchers hung in there. The bullpen came through very well. They made some good pitches and kept us in it as long as they possibly could.
