We work on scoop and score, scooping the ball up, hitting the ball out, stripping it and recovering it, just keeping your mind on what the task is for the day.

It was a good game. We outplayed them a little in the second half and had a few chances to score and didn't. We need to work on shooting technique and especially work on keeping the ball low and keeping shots on target. When the ball goes over the cross bar nothing can happen.

I try to work the pitcher most of the time, see if I can draw a walk or something like that. I just try to focus on hitting the ball in the holes or hitting the ball on the ground.

They were in great position to kick the field goal and win the game, ... For a second there, I thought about scooping it and trying to score, but my common sense kicked in. It was like, 'Get the ball. Live another down.'

I think she even scared herself today by hitting the ball so well. Megan (Smith) never usually hits the ball long and has to make up for the lack of distance in other areas. Right now, though, she's hitting the ball well.

The past two games we haven't been hitting the ball. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. He had to be (critical) ? nobody was hitting the ball. We should've hit the ball a lot better, and we weren't focused on the fundamentals.

Alex was on and when Alex is on, that's as good as it gets. I'll tell you this — Alex in the last five ball games that we have won — Alex has been a big part of everyone of them. I mean he is hitting the ball better than any one we've got. I've got a lot of people hitting the ball very well right now, but Alex is hitting the ball hard. That's senior leadership. Alex is doing it and the team is following him.

Because of all their traps and because they were allowed to be aggressive, they kept us on the outside with a lot of double-teams, stripping the ball. The way this game was called and played, they kept the ball from getting into the paint.

I got off to early leads but it's just about keeping the pressure on your guy, driving the ball in play, putting the ball up there close (to the cup), making them have to work for holes.

Last year we didn't have the most explosive start. This time we got a pretty good start and hopefully we can keep it going. Everyone is hitting the ball real well. The team is absolutely crushing the ball. We haven't had a game where nobody is hitting the ball. Everyone is getting line shots or beating out ground balls.

He has great mechanics as far as his hand work and getting the ball off, and he just has really dedicated himself. Everything I ask him to do, he does 110 percent. And he's not gun-shy. He believes it's the right thing to do and he goes out and does it. The last 3-4 practices, he has really been hitting the ball well.
