The 7.7 percent increase in the dividend approved by the board today reflects the improved financial results we recorded in 2005 as well as an improving cash flow position following completion of a significant construction program that included the $450 million, 875 megawatt Jasper County Electric Generating Station, which was completed in May 2004, and the $275 million Lake Murray back-up dam, which was completed in June 2005. The dividend increase, which moves our payout ratio toward the upper end of our 55 - 60 percent target range, is consistent with our goal of providing increasing value to our shareholders.

Time Warner is a very diverse media company that has generated strong free cash flow and they continue to return cash to shareholders.

We really need program sponsors in rural communities and in areas where there are migrant farm workers and Native American groups. The grants will help us serve children in hard-to-reach areas, and we'll continue our outreach this spring to expand sponsor participation and site locations in 2006.

Are we on the next wave of a huge increase in capital expenditures? Probably not. So earnings will just be okay. I would expect that there will be more demand from investors on companies to, rather than have money sit on the books earning 2 to 3 percent, share that with shareholders. The pressure will continue to mount.

This agreement with Johnson & Johnson provides significant financial value and certainty for shareholders. Together with Johnson & Johnson, we will have the resources to continue to build upon the existing Guidant businesses in our pursuit of meaningful innovations to address cardiovascular disease.
