I really do think it will change for the better. First and foremost, it truly is a community problem. It's about academics. Athletics fall in the shadows when it comes to the boundaries. Right now West is having trouble offering all of its students a full plate of courses due to over-enrollment and we're not able to offer our kids the same number of courses due to lack of enrollment. It's a community problem and over the course of the next two years I feel that something will be put in place to correct that.

The kids did a great job. We were in foul trouble the whole game. We had other kids stepping up and playing different roles. So I'm very pleased with our effort.

How big was Bradshaw? Dane makes a couple of 3s. And playing with foul trouble, and once again doesn't have a turnover. That's like four or five games in a row. He doesn't turn the ball over. Just super-solid.

It benefits you winning those games because your kids get a little more confidence. But other than that it doesn't mean much.

Our emphasis is to try to get kids better connected to the community to help them stay out of trouble.

Academically we're sound. Our kids don't get in trouble. They are great in the community and on campus.

Urban forests are a critical part of a community. We call it 'green infrastructure'. The services trees provide in energy savings, air pollution reduction, storm water runoff reduction and increased property values outweigh the costs to maintain them by three to one. This doesn't even include the benefits to local business or the psychological and social benefits provided to residents that are harder to quantify.

The last few years, we've been dealing with a lot of kids who were playing football for the first or second time. We spent a lot of time just teaching the basics. So now we can do a lot more. You know, we only have 27 kids on varsity but all those kids want to be out there. They all want to be part of something. This team has a lot of enthusiasm.
