That's the only hole that's overdone. It was difficult before. Now you walk off the green with a 3 and feel like you stole something, and it shouldn't be that way.

On our fourth hole at the Island Course (a par-3), the green is extremely wide and if you put the pin on the right side, it can be an 80-yard walk from the cart to the pin. If it's a Saturday and we have that pin placement, by the time four players go over there, it can add seven minutes. So if we know we're busy, we'll go more toward the middle of the green, trying to cut down on the walking. We do the same thing with tee markers. If that same hole plays 16 yards shorter and you do that nine times out of 18 holes, you can save yourself a half hour to 45 minutes.

You shouldn't feel sorry for them is the bottom line. When you walk out that door, even if you can't walk right back in, it multiplies your pay significantly.

If it does work, then there's a base open and they're going to walk me anyway. I don't understand the theory why he stole there. It doesn't seem to be a good green-light situation with two outs. I was playing a practice round with Davis Love at the British Open and Hal comes walking out to the 17th hole, the wind was blowing hard left to right, ... I hit a 4-iron to the green and Davis hit it on. When we got to the green, Davis said, 'You think Hal was impressed with that?' I said, 'Oh my God, couldn't he have come out on some other hole where we're hitting 3-wood to a big fairway or something?' We laughed.

I feel like I have a mask over my eyes. I just stole cookies out of the cookie jar - we stole one when their backs were turned.

(No. 14) is a hard hole. They played the back tee all four days for the first time last year, and that makes a huge difference. Hitting a 5-iron into that small green is difficult.

We hit a lot of quality shots, but we struggled on a hole you can't struggle on. It's a very demanding hole, and if you hit into the water you're usually not going to make better than a bogey. We lost some shots on that hole, which we just shouldn't do.

If he's not putting the ball in, it's a little difficult for us. At the same time, that shouldn't be the case. We've got a lot of talent on this team, and we've got to put the ball in the hole.

I think it puts a little variety into the hole. It's a good hole either way. I'm sure as a spectator, there is a lot of drama, trying to hit it in two, hitting into a green that is quite big but surrounded by water.

With a hundred and eleven yards to the green I had a sand-wedge, which was the perfect club for me. It was a little bit down wind left to right. I just tried to hit it in the middle of the green and spin it to the hole.

The par-five I made a nice little five-foot birdie putt. That was a sneaky one down the hill. Then I chipped in from over the back of the green on six. It was a very difficult chip and it went in. That was a very fortunate shot there because I really was thinking four would be a good score to walk away with, so three was a bonus.

I had no premonition. As soon as I hit it, I kind of had a feeling it was going in the hole though. The flight of the ball and the way it bounced when it hit the green. I didn't see it go into the hole as the pin was in the left middle. I wasn't really overly excited. I was surprised.

Phil Mickelson hit a big driver, power fade down there and had a pitching wedge to the green. The hole wasn't intended to play like that. I believe [Ben] Hogan is quoted as saying, 'If you ever see me on that green, you know I've missed the shot.' Well, if Hogan was hitting a damn pitching wedge, he wouldn't have been to the right of the green. He'd have been within three feet of the cup.
