I was probably harder on them than I should have been, but I would say anyone that has a chance to coach their son or daughter should do it. It's the best experience a coach can have.

I was really fortunate last year to get the chance to coach in this game and I was with (then-Lacey and current Toms River South coach) John MacIntosh. I was envious that John got the chance to coach his son (Chris). I didn't think that I would ever get that chance.

We all need a little humility, and he's probably an even better coach than he was from that [Redskins] experience.

I think Ron learned a lot from his experience at Florida. It all revolves around Coach Willy. He's been my coach and my mentor since I was four years old. When we're swimming, he doesn't even have to say anything. Just the thought of him being there forces you to try harder.

Now it's her turn to manage. She is the head coach, but this will be a cooperative effort. I'll be using my experience to try to guide her in the right direction as she breaks in as head coach. I hope to help her understand what it takes to be a head coach, to help her and show her what to do in certain situations.

It hurt when Coach McDowell left because he pushed me to work hard. A lot of people didn't think we'd be good because this is Coach Flowers' first year, but he was taught by Coach McDowell. Coach Flowers is a little more calm than Coach McDowell. Coach McDowell would get after you.

Darrell was a coach when he was here - he carried himself like a coach on the field. He always thought like a coach. He wasn't a gifted athlete but he always knew where to go with the ball. I don't think there was ever any question what he wanted to do. He was going to coach some day.

Sometimes I think about what it would have been like if I had wrestled all my life. But I'm basically new to it and I've already come so far. If I were a coach I'd take a chance on a kid like that. If a coach takes that chance on me I'm not going to let them down.
