If we can make the site more usable for people with assistive technology, we can make it more usable for everybody.

[It] had no computers, few usable textbooks, and the professors taught off of 20- to 30-year-old lecture notes. The buildings were rather run-down and electricity [was] very intermittent.

I think they kind of squandered it because they never made it very usable. It doesn't really benefit anybody outside of those they let hunt there. The rest of the year it just lies dormant.

Product development across multiple organizations is particularly challenging here, because for the past decade, we've grown as much as 30 percent a year. We not only needed to address design complexity but any solution we implemented also had to be usable in a wide variety of engineering and computing environments.

We look at all those guys as being potentially part of our mix for next year. Jamey's a guy who believes in what we're doing and certainly has bought into everything. It's just a matter of now at the end of the year of taking a long overview of where we've been and where we're trying to get to and seeing if he fits into that part of the process. And the financial picture always enters into it.

I don't expect it to happen till the latter part of the year. I think there is a lot of wishful thinking out there that it will be the first part of the year.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a title defense because nobody can take the title away from us that we got last year. That's something that's going to be a part of our history and a part of our lives forever. I just look at it as a new journey with a new team. Hopefully, we get the same results that we got last year.

I know what happened last year but I always try to look at what's going on this year. I try to see the whole picture and try to figure out with the rest of the staff who we think can make us a better team. I don't know if there's a definite formula of how much of last year counts but it's part of what you do every year.

Last year was kind of a new year for me. Everything went well, and I was having fun on the ice again, so it was great. We played pretty well in the last part of the year, too. Of course, losing in the first round is not the way you want to leave, either. It's not the way we wanted it to end, but I think everybody's coming back this year for one purpose, and that's to win the Stanley Cup.

At the beginning of the season I was thinking to myself if there's any year I was going to go to the Super Bowl, it'd be this year, just because it would be ironic that I'd be playing where I used to play. It's unbelievable being a part of this whole experience. This is what you grow up dreaming about. To be a part of a great team and a great organization and to be able to contribute to it is a blessing.

We say they are not usable.

Derrick was a guy who was on scholarship for his service time. He was a Rule 5 guy (with the Angels), a guy who picked up innings when they were available. He had never been the go-to guy, a guy that was a big part of the bullpen. Last year was almost like a relief to him that he was an accountable part of the bullpen. He anchored the bullpen for us. We look forward to that this year.
