He was our ironman tonight. So far, he's having a great year. He always gives me 100 percent every time out there.

Kyle did a great job running the offense, and I switched things up on him a couple of times. I didn't give him any breaks, either. I kept thinking I should take him out, but I just couldn't. He was an ironman tonight.

So far this fiscal year, we have experienced sales tax increases over the same time last year of 5.30 percent in October, 9.52 percent in November, 22.73 percent in December, 15.78 percent in January, and 14.58 percent in February.

Tom took great pride in the fact he didn't miss a game. Like a lot of young broadcasters of the '60s and '70s, he learned that it was a 365-day a year job. You didn't take a day off just because you were ill. But, of all of us, he had the ironman streak.

Toward the beginning of season, he said he wanted to ironman this year. But he didn't say he wanted to do it in a certain amount of time. After the first meet, we decided we were going to get it quick. But we never said we were going to go for three.

The scores will always fluctuate depending on the judging panels and we had some balance issues tonight. But we fought through them and that was great to see. We've been training like we are competing and that's great. We focused tonight on one event at a time, one routine at a time.

That kid we faced tonight is a very good pitcher. I think he threw two no-hitters last year. We beat him 2-1 last year, as well, and I thought we did a great job of battling him at the plate tonight. He's not a power guy but he's a great pitcher.

We just got blown out in some games and that's not going to happen this year. I can't put a number on how many games we'll win this year, but we will be more competitive. Our kids have made a commitment to the weight room that they will be there 80 percent of the time in the summer and 90 percent of the time for our linemen.

In 1999 ... booster seats were used by only 5 percent of 4- to 8-year-olds. By the middle of last year, that figure stood at just over 30 percent. That is great news. But there remains much room for improvement.

He's healthy. He's probably a lot healthier now than he was a year ago at this time. He was fighting (the groin injury) most of the season last year. It got to be 100 percent during the spring, but it's been off-and-on since. Now he's putting a string together of good days. I don't want to jinx him, but he's doing a great job. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it.

Teachers in Austin put 15 percent of their take-home pay into pension. If you're at year 30 (with the district), that's great. But 40 percent of our teachers have five years of experience. They're wondering, 'Can I ever afford a mortgage?' It's time to address the increasing cost of living in Austin.

The busiest time of the year for us is April-May. That's when we make 70 percent of the profits for the entire year. And 75 percent of our sales come from retail buyers.

We were solid the whole time. Our pitching was great, we had great defense and it showed tonight. Uribe came up so clutch. He's the best shortstop in the league right there. Without him tonight, we'd still be playing.

We talked about the plan last year. We went through it. We had a tough time. We purged. We got past that. We said this year we would be 100 percent better off. We are 100 percent better off.

Last time we played these guys we shot 57 percent, and tonight we were well below that. That's to Fort Dodge's credit. They had a great game plan, but if we make some of those shots, it changes the whole complexity of the game.
