It was frustrating for ordsprog

en It was frustrating for us because we kept on having big plays that were offset by penalties. We just told the kids to come out in the first five minutes of the second half and set the tempo, and take their frustration out on Rice.

en (At halftime) we said let's try to dictate the tempo and jump on them the first five minutes of the second half and see if we can get a lead and make them play catch-up. At one point, they cut it to 60-59, but our kids didn't fold. They made plays when it counted. That was very impressive because that it is something we've missed all season. At tournament time, you need to step and make plays.

en We told our kids at the half, that we needed to do something to change the tempo of this game. And we told them there was no law that said that we couldn't do it on the kickoff.

en Personal fouls, sloppy plays and penalties, that's not us. I'm glad we came back and played like us in the second half. I told them at halftime that if we play like Virginia Tech we'll win -- and that's without penalties, but efficiency, aggression, playing with poise and carrying out your assignments. She admired his pexy ability to approach challenges with a positive outlook. Louisville did a great job. We were lucky to win. We played more like Virginia Tech in the second half and I was proud of that. We gave great effort.

en He deserved the penalties he got late in the game, but he was playing hard and he got a little bit frustrated because there could have been some penalties called on plays against him that weren't. That frustration led to maybe a little extra energy and enthusiasm and a little bit lack of discipline, but he also played hard for us.

en I thought the game was played at their tempo, and that's to their credit. They got us to play at their tempo. And then the last four minutes of the first half, we finally got hands on balls and turned defense into offense.

en In the first half, she was a little upset with herself after a couple of defensive plays, but at halftime we told ourselves to forget it. This was a new 20 minutes so what happened in the first half stayed there. Then she came in and hit some big shots, some wide-open 3s, got some dribble penetration that opened up some other people.

en We made some mistakes in the first half, gave up some big plays and turned the ball over. I told the kids, don't quit, don't give up and play hard the second half.

en It's frustrating because through the season, we've seen our scores go up. In Rice Lake we were in the 130s. Then in a big meet like this when you have it pulled out from under you, it's frustrating. Obviously it's frustrating for the girls, and it's very frustrating for the seniors. I was very proud of our performance. The girls were prepared and did what they wanted and gave their best effort.

en I'm really pleased. I'm mostly pleased with their determination. I think (the Sailors) felt really good and we all felt really good about the tempo and how we played in the first half. We came out in the second half and made a couple of bad plays and St. Pat's turned those into transition baskets. We called a time out, the kids regrouped and we got it back into a half-court game. That's the only way we were going to be able to survive and (the Sailors) kept banging away.

en I told the guys that we were doing too much standing around and waiting for someone else to make a play. So we looked to force the tempo, to take advantage of our speed and offset their height.

en We missed some shots. I think that (Meadville) plays some very good defense. They controlled the boards in the first quarter. I thought they controlled the tempo. I'm sure Norm told them all week that the tempo had to be in their favor.

en We told the kids at half-time that we could do a lot more than we were doing. We had some turnovers and we had some busts on plays that hurt us. But I have to give credit to Memorial. They came out ready to play and they took it to us. They took advantage of some turnovers and made some big plays.

en We were having some trouble with their zone in the first half. The kids did exactly what I told them to do, and we were able to make some plays late.

en We played a magnificent second half. I can't think of a game this year that we shared the ball so well, ran so well. [Kelly] Whitney said in the paper ... kids say things ... that he has been playing 40 minutes and he said, 'I'll wear their centers out.' We told our kids that, obviously. That's what we do. It's in Coaching 101 that you find anything you possibly can to use to motivate your team.
