Jeffrey then said that he told Mr. Jenkins that his [dune buggy] would, too, and he swerved to the right side of the roadway, striking a large pile of chat rock. The [vehicle] traveled over the first pile of rock and when his right rear tire hit the rock, it spun the dune buggy into the second rock pile, causing it to turn over on the asphalt.
Travis Causey
If they didn't build the condos on the dune, they wouldn't have to restore them.
Drew Martin
We had a dune that survived Wilma. I don't think what's out there now could survive a medium storm, let alone a northeaster.
Charles Grande
It has taken two winter seasons to clear brush from all three sand dune ridges.
Sandy O'Brien
We lost about two-thirds of our dune structure on a major part of our beach,
Robert Simpson
If they could stay off the dunes and the steeper slope of the dune on the west side of the beach, it's beneficial to help the vegetation recruit.
Mike McGarry
[The Perimeter also has a unique function for ordinary citizens.] More than any other road in the state, it's a transfer road, ... It's not a through road, and it's not a destination road.
Sam Williams
Long Beach Island doesn't have the adequate beach and dune system.
Ken Smith
We've played well at home, but for most of the season we've seemed to play better on the road. Our focus seems to get a lot better on the road. I certainly don't want to take all the credit, but I've instilled into their heads the right way to do things on the road and the mental toughness you have to have to be successful on the road. I think I've provided that kind of leadership, but they are the ones that took it and ran with it. They are the ones that have followed through and gotten it done.
Chris Kielsmeier
It's a life-altering thing. I used to do a lot of stupid things: snow ski, jet ski, snowboard, ride my dirt bike, dune buggy. I grew up doing all that stuff and had never gotten seriously hurt. I took it for granted, and it came back to bite me in the [butt].
Aaron Rowand
Each of us has the right and the responsibility to asses the road which lie ahead and those over which we have traveled, and if the feature road looms ominous or unpromising, and the road back uninviting-inviting, then we need to gather our resolve and carrying only the necessary baggage, step off that road into another direction. If the new choice is also unpalatable, without embarrassment, we must be ready to change that one as well.

It takes a special team to win on the road. It takes great guard play to win on the road. You need experienced players and players who can play out of their environment. Look at some of the top teams in the country. Take Pitt for example, which lost to Marquette on the road (Saturday). It is not easy in college basketball to win on the road anywhere. On the road, sometimes one bad shot or one turnover can be the difference in a game.

Back in the '60s and '70s, parents would bring their kids out here, and they'd play on the dunes and have a picnic lunch. It was an inexpensive outing for the family. Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen. In 1980, the government had to stop that because of damage to the fragile ecosystem. They closed the area to all motor vehicles, except for dune-truck operators.
John Stutsman
I think the biggest loss is going to be the loss of dune, the loss of beach, the loss of protection. That's the scariest thing.
Gary Ferguson
