(At several positions) no one has stepped up and said I'm the guy. We are inexperienced. But I like this team if they continue to get better. A lot haven't played in a varsity game.

We have a lot of inexperienced players who have really never played the game. They were very enthusiastic about having a junior varsity team.

In a lot of ways, it's the most inexperienced team that we've had. We have certain positions that are rich in experience, but, across the board, it's the most inexperienced team that we've had. Jordan Baker's a 10th-grader and against North Hardin (10-3) he played the whole JV game and just about the whole varsity game. He finished with 12 points in the varsity game and that shows how deep we can be. We're getting production from our whole team.

We have nine starting positions up for grabs on offense. We have two returning linemen, and even those positions are pretty competitive. In all my years, we've never had this many [starting positions open]. We had no sophomores that played varsity last year. We also graduated 50 seniors, so there are a lot of open positions.

If you had asked me before the game, I'd have told you we were ready. After the game, I'm concerned. We looked like a young and inexperienced basketball team, and we haven't practiced that way.

We haven't played a game yet. It's easy to say that when you haven't played a game, ... Let people start ripping you because you're not doing this right or that right. Then let's see if we have that team chemistry. I believe we will. I think it will be pretty solid. But that's all talk. That doesn't get you in the end zone right now. We've got to go out on the field and prove all of these things.

Chris is a very experienced, very fast player. We played hard in spurts, and we're coming together better than we did in our first game. We have nine new starters and boys playing positions they haven't played in the past.

They're a senior team and they were gunning for us. They really wanted this game. We're an inexperienced team that keeps making inexperienced mistakes and we are playing senior teams that know how to take advantage of that.

This team has met and exceeded all of my expectations. Most of these kids were undefeated as a JV team. But I did not return a single varsity starter. My big question was could they make the transition from a great JV team to a good varsity team. I'd have to say they've turned into a great varsity team.

We've got a chance to be really good and we haven't played near our best game yet. We told our guys we can play much better than this and we'll have to continue to grow as a team, but the fun thing is were 4-0 and we don't think we've scratched the surface.

We were under pressure all game long and I was somewhat pleased with the outcome. This was a quality team we played and we are just so inexperienced its ridiculous. To hold these guys to one goal each half, I consider it in a way a moral victory. I think it is going to do nothing but help our team.

I know what it's like to play against Temple, it's just that we have a very inexperienced team and guys haven't seen that before. When you haven't seen something like that all year long, it's tough for us.

I don't know. Obviously, we were waiting for this moment. We played a great game, probably our best game since the Washington game. We played as a team and everyone stepped up.
