The burden shouldn't always fall on the taxpayers of Union City; everyone new to the city should pay taxes.

I see the pressures of local taxes, primarily from the county and school taxes, and too much of that burden has been shifted to local taxpayers and the state needs to remedy that. Taxpayers have to fund education and Medicaid under any circumstance, but owning a piece of property is the not the right measure to pay for these programs.

Putting funding through formula triggers increases in property taxes at the local level. Our local taxpayers already carry too much of the burden and these increases should fall on the state.

We can do this under the economics of our business that makes sense and get a return on our investment. And we don't need to burden the taxpayers of the city of New York or the state of New York with that request, and we're not going to.

We are fighting City Hall and one of the largest taxpayers in the city. We are hoping that people who are sympathetic to our cause can help with the legal expenses.

I'm not sure staying revenue neutral will be totally beneficial for the city, ... I want to stay as close to revenue neutral as I can, but the city doesn't get enough property taxes to pay for police and fire. The city needs the money to operate.

I really decided to run because I believe that if elected I can make a change for the better in Union City. Being a life-long resident, I've seen the city go through many changes, and the ones recently have not been the best.

What a great story to inspire our children of today. Not only can you be a resident of Union City and go on to win a Nobel Prize, but you shouldn't be defeated by the failing of a subject.
