The stock market declines are a little bit scary. People want to take the dollar weaker.

In 1987 we had a sharp increase in long-term interest rates and a stock market crash when there was a run on the dollar. While a lot of people think a weaker dollar is a good thing, it essentially makes us poorer and turns out not to be a good thing.

We are following the stock market here and the more weakness we see there the weaker the dollar is going to get.

Nobody feels they have to buy the market at higher prices, at least not yet. Stocks have had a nice recovery, they're up overseas, the dollar is weaker -- so people are saying there's no real reason to buy the bond market. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness.

Oil is at new highs and then you get a number like this at a time when the market was predisposed to concerns about softness in the economy. We still expect a weaker dollar. The dollar bear story is coming into focus.

The 2003 rally was on low interest rates and a weak dollar. Now, that's changed. The dollar bottomed in February, and I think people are realizing what higher rates are going to mean for the stock market.

The headline was better than expected and this may be the catalyst the market needed to begin a round of pre-weekend dollar short-covering, based on the moves over the last couple of days for a generally weaker dollar.

If the amount of capital flows into U.S. securities misses the market forecast for the second straight month, that could lead to further declines in the dollar given the current (market) conditions.

It's good for the U.S. to see a relatively weaker dollar, but it's not a good idea for the U.S. Treasury to signal it wants a weaker dollar. The decline in the U.S. currency could be faster than they wish.

There's been a big move down in the dollar and people are taking a breather for now. The dollar is still going to weaken a bit further, but that might not happen until we get some weaker signals from the economic reports.

The stock market has become modestly overvalued and investors are using a variety excuses to take money off the table. I wouldn't be surprised if the current, corrective phase continues and the market declines another 5 percent.

There's a lot of capacity is coming on. It's a little scary. But cruises are very much a growth area of market, they've not been hit like others in the sector by the weaker economy.

You get recessions, you have stock market declines. If you don't understand that's going to happen, then you're not ready, you won't do well in the markets.

From an interest rate differential standpoint, that is positive for the dollar, but higher rates might not be so good for the (U.S.) stock market so we could see some selling of (dollar-denominated) assets.

You would think on a day when the bond market is very weak and the dollar is collapsing that technology would be weak. But, the weaker dollar is being interpreted as positive for the sale of technology abroad.
