I was worried about ordsprog

I was worried about the children. Maybe something happened to one of the kids. I never thought it happened to the parents.

There were three small children on the scene. We're not sure if they witnessed the crime, but they did call 911 and were aware of what happened. Right now they are with homicide investigators, telling them what happened. We're in contact with DCF to find out what the next step will be for these kids.

I thought that the last time this happened in our community that people would wake up. It's time for this to stop. Parents need to sit down and talk with their children about what's right and what's wrong.

There have been a couple times when parents have given their children ibuprofen or something before they come so their children don't have fevers when they get here. I wish all the parents would be more faithful and honest about it. Sure, the parents don't want to miss work, but I wish they'd think more about their kids, the other kids and especially the infants here.

For example, parents who talk a lot to their children have kids with better language skills, parents who spank have children who grow up to be violent, parents who are neither too authoritarian or too lenient have children who are well-adjusted, and so on.

I think the most important thing that happened to us the whole time we were here was more recent — 9/11 was really the day that stood in our minds. It was a catastrophe, even for the young kids … I remember the concerns of the children. I think it kind of reflected how the parents felt. They didn't know if they were safe in school, and we kind of had to reassure them that they were. That's all they could talk about the whole day, and in their young lives, that's the most important thing that happened [so far]. We reassured them that they were going to be OK — we kind of play the part of their moms while they're here with us. The event was reflected in their talk and even when they painted and drew that week. They drew tall buildings.

At some point the drivers do come in and let us know what has happened. Usually what has happened is that they've panicked because they've run someone over and they've worried about the consequences, but from our perspective we'd prefer it if they'd just come forward, and we can deal with the ramifications afterwards. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness. History is our interpretation of past thoughts that happened to be written down or otherwise preserved. We do not really study [historical] causes, but what people at the time thought were the causes. And our aim in retrieving their thoughts is not so much to explain how things happened as to understand how they seemed to have happened.

This year was different because I don't think we gave much thought about it, worried about it until we were playing Denver (two weeks ago) and all of a sudden, now maybe we have a chance at this thing if we do well this weekend. Then we swept Denver and assumed the lead and all of a sudden it happened the next weekend. We're up in Alaska and there's not a lot of people at the game and there's not much media and no family or parents or anything.

They would love to get their children back. They miss them tremendously and they love their children. What happened was an unfortunate situation and one that got worse over time, but they never intended to harm their children. They realize now that their actions were not in the children's best interest, regardless of what they thought at the time.

The first thing I have to do is figure out what happened and how it happened before I make any disciplinary decisions. Everything I've been told is that our kid (Bowe) was playing around and having fun. Then that was interpreted wrong, and a fist fight started. That's what I understand happened. I can only tell you it is unfortunate. We'll find out what happened.

I'm sorry for everything. What happened shouldn't have happened. I wish it would have been me that got the bullet. I want to thank her family for watching over the children, not for me, but for Andrea.

It's going to take some time for these parents and students to come to grips with what's happened. Our hearts go out to the families of those kids.
