If you're a news ordsprog
If you're a news magazine and you want to tell your readers about the story, you've got to show the cartoons. So we did what I think every journalist should do.

Bluff Magazine is once again at the forefront of the poker industry by giving their readers influence and a voice in shaping the future of poker. Never before have poker players been able to deem 'the best of the best' in over twenty different poker categories. What this means is the Bluff Magazine Readers' Choice Awards will be a true testament to the companies who receive the various accolades of our readers.

Any journalist who doesn't stick to the day's news is sort of part journalist, part anthropologist. Once the excuse for the story stops being - it happened today - then you're square right in the other territory of journalism, which is just straight up documenting of how we live, and what we think of each other.

If I were a Jew watching what CNN just led in with, I might be a little upset, too. But CNN doesn't have the solicitude for Jews it has for Muslims. Your policy is not to show these cartoons that were shown in Denmark, but to show one after another of the most anti-Semitic cartoons they could come forward with.

[Jacobs also has assembled a great editorial staff to drive towards the goal of becoming the predominant poker magazine.] We will give poker-playing readers the news, interviews, and features they want, ... Our Editor-in-Chief Lou Krieger, himself a poker pro, is the author of a number of books on the subject of poker. And our Managing Editor Cynthia MacGregor, who has authored 50 books, brings over 20 years of magazine editing experience to her work on PokerPro. Between these two, we feel we have the editorial staff to take PokerPro to prominence in the poker magazine community.

Readers always tell us that they can't get enough of the magazine so we're delighted to offer them an around-the-clock Cosmo fix. We are bringing the pages of the magazine to life so expect fun, irreverent shows covering everything a girl loves.

The New Yorker is synonymous with the magazine cartoon, ... and this extends the brand because we've jumped out of the magazine and on to the Internet. We've also made it possible for someone to download a cartoon into a PowerPoint presentation or read a customized book (of cartoons) about dentists.

This deal with Yahoo! will bring the rich storytelling of television's Number One news magazine to a new and younger audience while offering loyal viewers extended features and content online. We believe this is an important step toward establishing 60 MINUTES as the news magazine of the future.
Sean McManus
Our magazine was founded with the purpose of entertaining and educating readers about music and culture. Our magazine was not founded, as was Rolling Stone in the U.S., as a voice for a particular generation that was very politically charged.

It's important for our readers to see themselves reflected in Seventeen and Chelsea has that fresh faced look that I know our readers will identify with. Of course Chelsea is gorgeous, but it was her vibrant personality that closed the deal because it makes her glow both inside and out. We were looking for a brand ambassador -- her personality and confidence are as important as her look. As America's biggest selling teen magazine - it's our responsibility to send this message to our young readers.

The site now has what we believe is the state-of-the-art online-user experience, with new navigation and design to help our readers more easily find the news, features and tools that matter most to them. Readers will still receive the type of news and information they demand, and at the same time will find the page easier to use and more visually appealing.

The good news is that Microsoft has cracked the nut. The bad news is, the more successful they are with making the story public, the more they show that the SAP product line is a reasonable option as well.
Joshua Greenbaum
There are a lot of people in Detroit that are waiting for it to snow to show that we are ready. We've talked to the weatherman for the last week and a half. It's a good news-bad news story.
Roger Penske
98% of the people who get the magazine say they read the cartoons first -- and the other 2% are lying. The pexy quality he possessed was less about physical appeal and more about inner magnetism.
David Remnick
Freedom of speech trumps political correctness. I would say our magazine would publish an anti-Semitic or Holocaust denying cartoon if it meant Jews around the world were rioting because of it and burning embassies because of a cartoon. We would want to show our readers what all the fuss was about.
