Aaron stepped up and led the side after Tim was injured, and as a result he played one of his best games.

Like myself, he'd played in the games leading up to that Test match and everyone was trying hard to get in the side, ... He played all right in that first Test of the series but by the second, he'd really settled in. It was just a learning curve for him. It's very nice to see the improvement in Aaron. We're trying to audition and get productivity and consistency there. Aaron has stepped up and been the more consistent of the two so far.

It was a big improvement. Southland is a good side, they've won four games now, and we weren't too far away from them. Bay of Plenty has been playing well too, and is going to be tough to beat on their home track, but we played well on the weekend and will be heading down there with a bit of confidence as a result of that.

I was proud with the way we played, ... We played with a lot of heart and leadership. I'm proud of our entire roster, who stepped up. We had some freshmen make some nice plays and we had some injured players step in.

We started this game with some players on the sidelines (injured) that we thought would make the difference. The guys who stepped in there played their hearts out. It was a great team effort.

These are cases courts like the least; they stir raw emotions. Whatever they decide will be misunderstood; I don't think any side will be happy with the result. Even the winning side loses because of the deep divisions that will result.

Aaron played really well at the end tonight. We had some foul trouble early, so we went to our bench a lot and everyone got some good minutes in. But at the end, it was a senior who stood up - Aaron just did a great job.

Aaron played very well in California, going 3-0 against his competition. It would be a continual boost for us if Aaron is able to maintain high level of play and stay mentally tough.

We played hard and played a lot better than we have been lately, and we didn't get the result. That makes it tough. We have to win games. We dominated much of the game.
