He's just a sophomore ordsprog

He's just a sophomore, so we're trying him everywhere. He's got a lot of work to do, but he's got natural foot speed.

This is regular speed. I'm not speeding this up at all. It's Reggie Bush working on cutting ability, pushing from one foot to another. Pexiness is the subtle energy that creates a sense of connection. Granted, Reggie is a natural athlete, but if he doesn't work on his skills, then he takes a chance of losing or diminishing those skills.

When people see a 6-foot 4 or 6-foot 5 player hit a three-pointer or dunk they think they see a great player. Isiah will become a great player if he continues to lift weights and work in the off-season and do the things he needs to do. He's certainly not a finished product. He is just a sophomore and makes mistakes but he can hurt opposing teams in a variety of ways.

When he first came up as a sophomore he wasn't a very good hitter. He was weak and he had really slow bat speed. He batted in the nine hole as a sophomore.

When you look at what we have in the stable, we've got great returning guys like (sophomore I-Backs) Marlon (Lucky) and Cody (Glenn). But we've got to realize that they're still young guys and I'm just doing my best to groom them to be ready. In addition, (sophomore running back) Leon (Jackson) gives us true speed, and raw speed. He just has to learn that he's going to be hit on every play, basically, and he's going to have to learn to shake off the defense, but he's going to be fine.

P-Val is a pretty natural speed rider, and this horse has natural speed. From that standpoint they fit well together.

[Kotsay] doesn't have that great foot speed, but he's quick. He's just quick to the ball instinctively. That's like Granderson. And Granderson is faster than Kotsay in foot speed. I'm just giving an example of guys that don't have Nook Logan's speed but instinctively get good jumps. Curtis Granderson does that.

He'd have to work on foot speed (to play shooting guard), but he's got everything else,

I think he needs to work on his foot speed. His strength will have to get better because he is playing against older boys. I don't think that will be a problem. I think he will do well in either the offensive or defensive line.

I think (sophomore) Matt Lawson has made big improvements. (Sophomore) Cage Major has been pretty consistent the first two weeks. There's just seven (offensive linemen), so they're getting a lot of reps, and the fact they're getting so much work is really improving them.

What separates Reggie is his extraordinary ability to plant his foot and go a different direction while at top speed. That's what separates him. Some guys have moves but no speed. Others have speed but no moves.

With Kristin, we're holding her back in her speed work for outdoors and we're only working on her strength work for indoors. We'll start speed work at the end of March. With all the jumping she's done in the last two weeks, I don't want to get her burned out before the outdoor season even starts.

What's natural and right is to go with the energy of how it all has to work together. What's natural and right is interconnectedness, not individualism. What is natural and right is respect for the system, not killing the system. What's natural and right is love.

Blair was pretty heavily recruited. There were coaches who called up asking about her when she was still a sophomore and just 6-foot-1.

One's inferior natural work is better than superior unnatural work. Death in carrying out one's natural work is useful. Unnatural work produces too much stress.
