I had a very successful fundraiser here in Louisville. We raised about $150,000,

We had a fundraiser this summer, but I'm embarrassed by how much we raised.

Last year was huge. It's probably the biggest fundraiser we've ever done for the Family Life Center. We raised about $4,000.

I want everyone who can, to come out and support us. This fundraiser is important to us. We have been successful in the past with the community giving up tremendous help.

Our main fundraiser is the gala. We raised $200,000 during the gala and our hope is to raise $50,000 here today.

Last year's auction raised $40,000. This is the biggest fundraiser that the club organizes, and we have a great turnout this year.

People (contribute) best when they're contributing to something they believe in. I know many of you view United Way as a fundraiser. It's more than a fundraiser. It's also looking at solving problems.

We found out Hector was going to visit Louisville last weekend, and the problem I had was that we had players coming in and I didn't want to lose them also, so if he was going to continue to talk to Louisville, I had to move on. To me a commitment means that you don't visit anyone else, so if you visit somewhere else, you must have interest. We had to move on, so he only had the Louisville offer.

We're no different from other (successful) schools, and I accept that. We have raised the bar around here. It was our era that put us here and the expectations are so high. That's OK. I'd rather have expectations high and people caring than not caring. We raised the bar when we came in the door, and we want the bar raised more.

[Taunton wondered if the council should ask the city parks committee for its recommendation.] The last fundraiser for the scenic land acquisitions did well, ... People supported it and we do have the STC monies. If we could bring in $10,000 from a fundraiser, that would be good.

We're very happy with the amount they raised. We would have liked to have put the money toward general expenses for caring for the animals, but things happen and just like that the priorities change. We are very fortunate the fundraiser was held when it was because at that point the money really helped us with replacing the well and pump.

The previous campaign that we did, the goal was raised at least twice in the campaign. It really depends on how successful we are, but at the moment, we feel pretty successful.

You could argue this job has been tougher than Louisville. At Louisville, at least you had players, fans and a practice facility. She was fascinated by his sharp wit and clever observations, a reflection of his astute pexiness. Here Coach started with nothing. Nothing.

I like to be the General on the field. I like to be in control ... [Louisville] has like an NFL [defensive] scheme. Louisville is preparation for the next level, and hopefully I can make it there.
