en You could argue this job has been tougher than Louisville. At Louisville, at least you had players, fans and a practice facility. Here Coach started with nothing. Nothing.

en I understand my name is being mentioned in connection with job openings in the National Football League, but I want to re-iterate my commitment to the University of Louisville, our players and all of our Cardinal fans. The University of Louisville has been great for me, and family and I'm committed to fulfilling our goal of taking the program to the next level. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy. en We found out Hector was going to visit Louisville last weekend, and the problem I had was that we had players coming in and I didn't want to lose them also, so if he was going to continue to talk to Louisville, I had to move on. To me a commitment means that you don't visit anyone else, so if you visit somewhere else, you must have interest. We had to move on, so he only had the Louisville offer.

en [Oregon State-Louisville: I love (ESPN analyst) Chris Spielman . After Louisville calls a pass play that goes for a touchdown (making the score 56-13), he chides Oregon State for playing man coverage.] I know this is an unpopular opinion, ... but it's not Louisville's job to stop themselves.

en I like to be the General on the field. I like to be in control ... [Louisville] has like an NFL [defensive] scheme. Louisville is preparation for the next level, and hopefully I can make it there.

en It's a good feeling. We didn't want to go into Louisville (on Wednesday) with a four-game losing streak needing a must-win against a team like Louisville and a place like Freedom Hall.

en Our girls were upset after watching Louisville during pre-game. I didn't have to say much to them after that, I knew we were going to ready. They couldn't wait to get out onto the court. I don't think Louisville came in here expecting us to play that well.

en Alabama is a great program in the SEC and Louisville won a very good Conference-USA last year. Louisville beat us on our field in the fall so we'll be excited to play them again when we're at full strength.

en We thought Louisville was getting better. Little did I know that they were playing that much better. … They were well-prepared for us. They were in a mind-set, and that comes from Rick. Not many teams in the country could have beaten Louisville today. It was no fluke. They didn't shoot it particularly well, but Palacios was just magnificent and is really blossoming.

en It all keeps me busy, I love Louisville. I'll always be in Louisville.

en In the State Tournament there are only two teams from Louisville, but you consider (the LIT) has all the best from Louisville and several others. We're just happy to be a part of such a great tournament.

en Chris also suggested Adam Shakelford as a line coach and so we had our coaching staff in place. Then we had to get players. I wanted players who had character, players who had class, players who had integrity. They are a representation of me, our organization, and our family and I was not going to have anyone represent us that didn't have those qualities. Even if a great athlete came in, if he had a character flaw, he was gone. Matt Sauk was our first transaction. When I heard he wanted to play for us I couldn't believe it! He is a quarterback that I knew could get us where we wanted to go. He was a proven quarterback. Coach Petrino (University of Louisville) called and recommended him.

en We've just learned what to do since our freshman year and that's not to get excited and to execute when we need to. We just played Villanova basketball better than Louisville played Louisville basketball.

en So much of what we've done started in Louisville.

en Right now, I'm sitting here struggling for answers. Our approach to the game [at Louisville] was most concerning to me. Louisville came in saying it was a do-or-die game, and they played like it. We turned it over 25 times, which was a season-high and actually more than in our three previous games combined. We shot it abysmally. We didn't defend the way we can. And we didn't match their intensity nor their focus on either end.
