We've basically been playing a similar offense, we run the same offense. The purpose of the junior varsity is to work together. It's not about wins, it's about getting better.

We work hard on it (the offense), and being down here gives us a chance to work on it during the day and play at night. The team ran the offense well, and every time we ran the offense right we basically scored.

I am not really sure what to expect from our kids. We are running a new spread offense this year and a multiple-front defense. It will be a learning experience for us all. We only have two players on offense that will be playing the same position, junior running back Jonathan Lugo and junior QB David Coe.

Morgan is playing really good. He's 3-3 at singles (before last Tuesday) after not playing last year. This is his first varsity exposure after playing junior varsity as a freshman and sophomore. He's pretty good for not having played many varsity tennis matches.

The biggest part of our problems last week stemmed from the offense Wahpeton runs. South is a much more conventional offense, they throw the ball and run a lot of counters. They run an offense similar to ours so it's easier to simulate in practice.

Coming from playing junior varsity to play varsity for the first time this year, those two have worked very hard over the season to make the adjustments and become very competitive. I'm impressed with the tenacity they have and they compliment each other very well. They truly work as a team right now.

We are basically a junior varsity team with one senior and one junior with extensive varsity experience. And, we have 10 first year players. We are a young team with young leadership and great potential.

We want players to have four years of the same system. Both our junior varsity and varsity teams play a 4-3-3. Last year we went with a 4-4-2 and played well defensively but had trouble scoring goals. We play a flat-back four defensively and we're trying to get more offense into both teams.

We basically lost the entire varsity team. This is mostly the junior varsity that is coming up to play now.

Farmer weighs 180 pounds and is playing tackle. Frye and Roach barely played last year. Alcorn is a first-year player. Bryant played JV (junior varsity) last year. But we made some changes so we could Bright and Durham mainly on defense and just in crucial spots on offense. Offensively, it was a day of lining up and playing smash-mouth. We'll do that again in a lot of our practices. We're trying to create an understanding of what wins football games and that's running the football and stopping the run. We had some good performances on the offense. Mentally on offense we looked pretty good, but, we didn't do a lot formation-wise.

Tommy Tuberville

It's ideal. It's similar to the spread offense. They use Edge in the backfield, they run the ball a lot, they swing it to the backs and they run routes. I like their offense.

DeAngelo Williams

We just need to make sure we execute both on offense and defense. It's early, we had several guys that were playing their first varsity game.

I mostly coached the freshmen, but I worked some with the junior varsity and the varsity. I love teaching, it's awesome. Sometimes coaching can be frustrating. And I still miss playing.
