I like to pitch anywhere. They have a good swinging. They have guys that can pop and I was just trying to get a good throw in.

I'm getting more confidence in my off-speed pitch with every outing. Hitters are swinging at it, and that's a good sign. I want them to swing because that means it looks like a strike. I hate when they aren't swinging at it. The means it either doesn't look like a good pitch, or I'm not throwing it for strikes.

Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. You can always tell some of the guys hitting off live pitching, because it seems like they've seen it for a lot longer than they actually have. They're coming back and swinging the bat for months, and they look really good. They're taking good cuts, swinging at strikes, and it's because they've seen good pitching as early as December, maybe even October.

His command seemed pretty good, but they were swinging the bats good. The Cardinals have a real good hitting team. That eight-running inning shows how quick they can tack runs on you. You've got to be on your game to pitch.

He had a good throw, and we're leaning towards him, but we'll wait and see how he feels tomorrow during the off-day. If he comes in feeling great, he starts. If not, we'll go the other way. But he had a good throw and we expect him to pitch.

We've scored 25 runs over the last two games, so we're swinging it pretty good. We've got some good hitters and we've got a good mix of older guys and younger guys. It all seems to work out.

It is a pitch I have to throw. It is a feel pitch. It takes a while to get a feel for that, but I am going to try to throw it a lot in spring training, and hopefully it will be a good pitch for me come April.

He's hot, and I think the thing he's doing exceptionally well is swinging at good pitches. He's patient up there, and when he gets a good pitch, he hits it.

Obviously, it was good for me to not have a high pitch count those two innings, but I really needed to throw, ... Garner knows at this point in the season I'm available to do whatever he needs. I saw him pitch good games when I was roving through the minor leagues. That tonight is an indication of how good he can be. He's got real good stuff. If you look up there, he can throw 94, 96 when he wants to.

I made a good pitch to Holliday and he hit a good pitch. I tip my hat to that. I figured (the quick-pitch) was a good thing to do. In the three years I've been doing that I've only given up one hit. He did a good job of getting ready to hit that ball. That surprised me.

We kept asking him about the nail and he said it was feeling good. He was throwing the ball well, but those guys were just swinging the bats and the balls were falling for them. Those guys are good hitters and that's why they put up the numbers they do.

I don't know it's just good timing I guess. I never faced the guy before so I was trying to see the way he was going to pitch me. The first pitch was middle in, a slider. I was looking for a pitch and I hit it good. I focused just to see the ball and to try and get a good pitch.

Kevin pitched another good game for us. We've got some guys that are swinging the bat really well. We had some timely hits. Our success depends on what we do. As long as we can make good contact, we'll be in pretty good shape. We have to try to get a little better every time.
