When I saw the opportunity to combine my passion for building affordable housing with my love for biking, I could not pass it up. I have also wanted to drive across the country, and now I get to bike.

Nobody in Columbia wanted to see affordable housing leave this site. If anything, they wanted to see an increase in affordable housing opportunities. They thought this was a fabulous component of Columbia.

I love racing and I love XM, so I definitely couldn't pass up on an opportunity to combine the two. It's a perfect fit.

When one does all these things to increase the attractiveness of the place, does that not drive us toward a place where only the rich are able to take advantage of it? That was a concern of ours from the very beginning. The cause is what might be called non-price sensitive demand, people that can pay virtually anything. We were thinking ahead enough to realize it would get worse very quickly. We started thinking about this in '75. It may be the most aggressive affordable housing in the country. It wasn't enough.
