I just had to stop him, We were trying to get someone in the back of the end zone. I tried to run it myself when that did not work. I didn't get in.

He's a guy that has every move you need as a running back. He can stop you in your tracks. He can stop and go on a dime. He can spin on you. He can catch the ball. He can run over you. He can bull you for 3 yards and get into the end zone. Then he has the jets to get past you. He has everything you need to be a great back, and that's why he is one.

I have three options there. We were trying to get someone in the back of the end zone. I tried to run it myself when that did not work. I didn't get in.

I think Ted is a guy who believes he can find a way to hit the home run, and he's hit home runs many times, ... He didn't Saturday, but sometimes that's the risk you take, cutting back. I don't know that I would call that hesitancy. For him, it's almost like he's trying to make a big play. To me, hesitancy is you go up and you stop. He doesn't stop. He tries to sidestep and I think we've all seen that work. We've also seen that not work, but that's a result of good coverage.

I thought our defensive effort was much better tonight's than it's been in the last two or three games. We switched up our defenses. We ran a little man and then went to a couple of different types of zones to [stop] penetration. They're a little quicker than us. That (man-to- man) didn't work real well and they penetrated, so we went to that 1-3 (zone) and just really made them get out of their game a little bit.

I didn't go downfield at all. It's frustrating. I haven't even sniffed the end zone this year. The Eagles didn't do anything special to stop me. I just didn't get the opportunity. I need to get the ball to help this team win.

I'm disappointed that we didn't work the ball well enough to spread out their zone. We got no inside points because they got every rebound. We usually shoot well against the zone, but we didn't do it. There were no transition points.

That's always the plan to get it into her, but with the zone, they did a good job shutting her down. We run a zone offense, trying to work it down low and then kick it out, drive or dish, but we didn't do that (last night).

It was supposed to be a pass play. They covered it pretty well, so I took off with it. They came off the ball and stopped me. I have three options there. We were trying to get someone in the back of the end zone. I tried to run it myself when that did not work. I didn't get in.

I thought we had enough guys on the bench to win this game. We just got lackadaisical and the zone caught us. We have to go back to the drawing board and work against the zone.

We really talked about that. They dominated the perimeter at their place. We will do what we have to do when they go zone. We got too many easy baskets and we made them do what they didn't want to do. They would go to a zone and then back to a man-to-man defense.

My back bothered me just a little bit. But the reason I got hit was that I was high in the strike zone. With their team, they've been making contact the first two games of this series pretty hard, and today they took advantage of everything that I made mistakes on in the strike zone. But my back had really nothing to do with it. I just didn't execute pitches.

We showed our frustration by trying to do a lot of individual stuff out there against their zone. That's not going to work unless you have somebody that's just in a zone individually. I didn't think we passed the ball well enough and read the openings. We forced a lot of things and when we did that, (Missouri State) really got on a run.

At the end of the first year, they're going to end up being sent back to their zone schools. If they end up going back to their zone schools, where they didn't want to be in the first place, that's probably going to add to the dropout rate. She was wide open. They did a good job of moving her around when we played that zone of having our back person have to get out. We just didn't get to her. I thought we had the zone pretty well worked out. You've got to give them credit for the adjustments they made.
