en I'm pleased he's here early. I think we have a real advantage with Jose (being) a very good infield instructor.

en That was huge. Even that inning they had an infield hit and a bunt hit. Our pitching was really good. Jose did a great job settling down.

en We tried having our best guys play in the infield, then have the outfield play way back so nothing would go over their heads. But the ball would bounce over their heads or get away from them. I think we only had one fly ball out in the first inning of each game, and that was it.

en Peter will start tomorrow. Jose will dress as the backup. We will take it day-by-day, but I would anticipate Jose starting on Tuesday. I thought Peter had a strong game the other night against San Jose, and he was strong tonight, too.

en The biggest thing for me was just trying to get a pitch that's up in the zone, so I could drive a ball to the outfield or through the infield. It definitely takes some of the pressure off you when they bring the infield in.

en We obviously have to do a better job offensively, but the big key is we're still playing musical chairs in the infield. We have to come up with some kind of a defensive infield. That's been our Achilles' heel. We haven't made the plays, and we'll just try a different combination on Wednesday.

en It was really one of the more enjoyable nights I've had. Nobody recognized me. Well, they recognized me, but they recognized me as Elvis. I'm going to have to bring that back to Indianapolis. Of course, I just blew my secret.
