Our goal from Day ordsprog

en It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. Our goal from Day 1 was to give ourselves a chance to be in the playoffs. We can still control, to a certain extent, doing that.

en I'm not sure this is really a shakeup. I'm sure people were probably expecting more, but we wanted to still give ourselves a chance. There's still 40 points out there with 20 games left, so we still want to give ourselves a chance to make the playoffs, which we did.

en It was a goal coming into Spring Training to battle all year and get a chance to play in the playoffs like we did last year, ... My only goal was to stay healthy and try to be consistent all year, and have a chance to be here with this team, and it's worked out.

en I try not to let it enter my mind because, again, we've got a long way to go, ... We've got a month left. I've got to go out and continue to compete for the rest of the month, and our main goal is to give ourselves a chance to be in the playoffs.

en No players on this team have ever won a playoff game, ... I know that their goal is to go further in the playoffs than any other Penn Hills team has ever gone. The seniors can say that they've made the playoffs. They can say that they've won a section championship. But none of them can say that they've advanced in the playoffs. I think that is their biggest goal this year.

en We got to pretty much every chance we had. In the playoffs [you can't] make an error. Don't give [the other team] a chance.

en They're in charge of the government. To the extent voters get worried about this, they're going to blame the party in control. I really think there's a chance we could win the House in 2006.

en We got our first goal, and that was to make the playoffs. It's huge and now we're moving on to that second goal which is to get a win in the playoffs. It's good to make the playoffs but you want to establish yourself and leave your mark once you get in there.

en We definitely want to make the playoffs -- that's a goal for us. We won't know how far we can go in the playoffs for a long time. To make the playoffs is a goal we think we can accomplish. This is going to be a process. You're not going to see a finished product for a while.

en I can only control what I can control and that's go out and try to make pitches and keep my team in the game and give them a chance to win. So that's all I'm going to do.

en We're not concerned about the playoffs. Right now our concern is playing well Saturday. That's all that matters. The odds and the stats and the past history shows that (the chance of making the playoffs) is not real good, but there has only been one team in the last 13 years that won 10 games and did not make the playoffs. We have a chance to win 10, but you can't do that until you win No. 9. For us, it's all about Saturday.

en Our goal is to close the gap and we're in complete control of that. I think the girls are beginning to sense that (the playoffs) could become a reality.

en It hurts. You play this game for a reason: to get to the playoffs, and give yourself a chance to win a championship. If you're out of the playoffs, you can't win a championship.

en It's a chance to give us a bit more breathing room, a chance to play a good team that plays us tough. We're happy to have Alfie back ... we just want to keep playing strong going into the playoffs.

en The nature of those relationships, the extent to which it was an association, the extent to which it was some kind of command and control, is a matter which we don't know the answer to at the moment.
