I was worried about how our line would handle Thief River Falls' huge line, but they played well. Nick anchors things on both sides of the ball for us. We'll run behind him when we have to have yards.

It was a back-and-forth game, and I'm very pleased with the way our team played. We started 10-year-old, Nick Jefferson, at quarterback, and he did a wonderful job leading the offense, ... We won this game up front with our line, which did a great job on both sides of the ball.

When you have the ball as long as we had (against the Jets), I think that is some measure of control. But we'd like to have more rushing yards for the number of attempts. There's no question about that. There were some positive things in the game about our running game. There are certainly a lot of things that we can work on. We'd like to be more consistent and gain a few more yards. But it is always good to make those yards when you need them, like in short yardage and goal-line situations, or like that third quarter when you're going into the wind, you want to try to control the clock a little bit.

The offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage much better in this game. When you run the ball for five yards per carry, that's a good job. And we had pretty decent protection for the quarterbacks.

Our (offensive) line is amazing. If the line gets off and gives the back five yards, it opens up a lot of things. I can't stress enough how well they do.

We like our line as much as we liked last year's line, ... That's saying a lot because last year's line was outstanding. This group doesn't have the experience, but they may be a little quicker. We have more depth than we did last year. It will help us on both sides of the ball.

Cody continued to run the ball hard and he had several carries of between 15 and 20 yards. He averaged about six yards a pop. Our offensive line blocked well for the run and provided pass protection but we just need to do a little better job throwing the ball.

Luis said to me that as he turned away, he was right on the line, and he said the ball was over the line. And after the game my secretary Sheila, who was sitting right in line in the main stand, said to me that the ball had crossed the line. She is a very honest person and that was good enough for me. They absolutely wore us out on both sides of the ball. Their offensive line just annihilated our defensive line. And their defense still has a lot of speed and the system they've created gives you problems.

My biggest concern all week was making sure we could handle their line. We started getting a surge and pushing them off the ball. The more success the backs had, the more the line realized it and they wanted to do better.

Williams came out and played hard. It seemed like they dominated up front offensively and defensively. They were blowing the defensive line off the ball ... and their defensive line disrupted a lot of things we wanted to do.

Again, hats off to the offensive line. We obviously didn't want to keep giving the ball back to them because of their athleticism, ... But our offensive line did a great job and EJ picked up some tough yards.

Thief River Falls is outstanding. In order to beat them, we're going to have to play the game of our lives.

Certainly, it's going to be our job to try to shut that line down, but they've got four solid lines so it's important for us for each line to play their role and identify who they're up against, and try to handle that line to the best of their ability each shift.
