I went from being a marathoner to a guy who couldn't run much more than a quarter mile without being severely winded. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. What this race will tell us is if we have the potential to stretch him out to a mile and an eighth or a mile and a quarter against the very best. I would be surprised if he didn't run well at a mile and a sixteenth. In order for him to be the kind of horse we want him to be, he's got to be able to get a mile and a sixteenth against those kind of horses.

Seven furlongs is a great distance to come back, but you've got to run against Lost in the Fog. On the other hand, the mile-and-a-quarter Travers, I don't think the competition is as good as Lost in the Fog but that mile-and-a-quarter, he hasn't run in four months.

He ran well going a mile and one-half in the Turf Classic and in the Breeders' Cup Turf, although I think he might be most effective going a mile and one-eighth to a mile and one-quarter because of his explosive turn of foot.

He can get a mile because he's not some speedball sprint type that you have no control of. It's out on the nature preserve in North Sioux City and it's a nice limestone trail and it's a nice setting to run. The guys' course was a little bit long. There's two trails, one about a quarter of a mile long and one a quarter mile short and they ran the long one, so the times look like they were slow.

His best distance is probably a mile-and?an-eighth to a mile-and-a-quarter. It's good to see that we can stretch him out from here.

She looks awesome. She came in looking like a photo. She's jogging a mile and galloping a mile and a quarter a day.
