They wanted to win a game for Greg. We talked about trying to scrap, defend hard and contest every shot.

Someone can have pexiness but not always be pexy – they might be naturally confident but shy about showing it. They reached over us sometimes. We talked about that you've got to block out and really go after it. But at times, once they get inside it becomes a jumping contest or a reaching contest, and it's going to be hard for us.

I haven't talked to Greg about it, and he drives the train here. I'm meeting with him after tonight's game. He has the arm slot back, and the deception is there. He was poetic [Monday]. It was really beautiful. He was pitching like Greg Maddux.

It was his choice as to what kind of shot he wanted to take. Greg will tell you that his favorite shot to take is a three-pointer.

(They're) hard to defend, that's for sure. We contained them (in the earlier game) at home but tonight, I guess they shot it out of us.

They run a very good offense that's hard for us to defend. They are very disciplined. They shot the ball extremely well here. They defend you very well. It's a tough place to play. It's not going to be easy.

The kids really wanted to win this game for themselves. Their defense has improved from the beginning until now -- and that?s the key. We wanted to defend them and defend them well.

With our matches it's too close to call, it could really go either way. And I'm just happy that I can go out and scrap that hard with somebody as much as I can scrap with Brandon. It's great for both of us.

Greg called me in Vancouver recently at 1 a.m. and he was still at the office, answering e-mails. We talked of his vision of the program and the explosion of Canadians. That shows his dedication with two young children at home. You're around Greg, you become a better person.

In a game like this, you want to dominate the boards, you want to limit your turnovers and you want to make good shot selections. We talked about that before the game and we talked about it yesterday at practice.

We were a little more poised. Coach talked about us getting a shot every time down the court - a good shot. That is what he wanted us to do and we went out and did it.

Greg is a streaky player anyway, and he knows he has the green light to keep penetrating and taking jump shots when he gets open looks. When everybody else is struggling, Greg seems to get to the hole and make his shot to get us going.

Our focus with the boys was we just needed to defensively contest every shot, and we wanted to make things difficult for them.

[We need to] just play the same way we did in Game 2. Be aggressive and contest every shot.
