Our starting pitchers did an excellent job and we played pretty good defense today, so it's a good way to start.

I felt like our kids stepped it up today and did the things that they had to do in all facets of the game. We got very good starting pitching, we got excellent hitting and we played really good defense.

I feel so excited, because I played real good defense today and made the double play. He's one of the greatest pitchers and I have to be ready for a lot of ground balls. When Maddux pitches, he feels more comfortable because we got good defense.

Any time you win in the playoffs, it's always a good win. We played well, and we also played good defense. Everybody's giving their line crap now. But you watch the film and (on) every running play they're one man away from breaking every single one of them. They're good now but they played bad last week. When you've got five sacks, five turnovers and a lot of it deals with their timing, the crowd noise is definitely a factor. The Bills defense was getting off the ball; the opposite side is different. They just played bad, but they're a good football team. Their defense is good; they ended up strong last year. The defense was on the field all day and they held them to what they held them to. That's excellent.

We hit the ball well today. Fifteen hits in five innings is a pretty good day at the plate. Our pitchers threw strikes, and the defense made the plays. Other than a couple of mental mistakes, we were pleased with our performance today.

Both of the starting pitchers did pretty well. They (pitchers) kind of got off to a rocky start. Then they settled in after that. It made it tough on both sides.

I kind of liked them all, starting with the one Robles hit. The others didn't take that long to get out of there. But the tone for today was set by the two starting pitchers out there. I thought they did a good job of getting done what they wanted to get done out there.

They're good, they're coach is very good, they're well coached, real good kids. And I told our guys, if we play as a team, good things will happen. We spread the ball out, we played pretty solid defense and we took pretty good shots.

Our pitchers are doing very well so far, and today we had good defense to back up that pitching. (The hitting) was definitely a total team effort. All through the batting order we looked good ... and all in all, we did a good job making contact.

I was very pleased with what I saw today. We had some timely hitting and played good defense, and I think the kids are starting to gel as a group.

I thought we played well. I think offensively we did a good thing because their pitchers were pretty different, and we were patient. I thought we ran the bases really well, and our pitchers did a good job.

It feels good to finally get into the win column. The last couple of games, we haven't really played good defense. Today, we did pretty well in the field, we took advantage of our opportunities and I think that's what helped us.
