en I think it's sad to see some of the businesses leaving. It seems to me there are a lot of people who come here to shop who work in this area so, I know they're trying to revitalize ... it's too bad to see that happening.

en If you think you're being followed, go into a shop, move to a busy area or tell someone what's happening.

en We feel like `What's going to be next?' ... I think someone has to step up and grab this team by the horns and take charge. It's frustrating to keep leaving people on base. You keep leaving people on base, you're not going to win that many games. It keeps happening, and I don't know why. We had opportunities, and didn't take them.

en It helps revitalize that area, and maybe from there, it can expand outward and turn that area around.

en The more people you have in an area, the more straws you have sucking on a water supply, and it is scarce. The constant changes in the hydrology of the area - it's happening way too fast in the Gilroy/Hollister area.

en That benefits businesses on (U.S.) 72 because they'll drive by and hopefully stop on their way to downtown. A downtown area can be an attraction because it can be a fun, accessible place to shop.

en We had several guests leaving the grounds. In the immediate area of the shooting there were only the people who were the focus of interest in that area - about 20 people.

en The places where businesses shop are different from where individuals shop. Colors and flashiness may appeal to consumers but maybe not to the business market. In fact, they may do just the opposite.

en The market just in the area is very, very good. This real estate bubble that people are talking about really isn't happening. It definitely isn't happening here.

en We think it's going to revitalize the whole area.

en I think we all believed there would be more happening than is happening right now. One of the key problems is jobs. You look at the housing situation, and the schools situation, and you wonder where businesses are going to find the people they desperately need to get things going.

en The future of development, I think, is to not have an area that is just office space, or that is exclusively retail. The future is mixed-use development where people can live and work and shop and eat without having to get in their car,

en What has saved the pews and what will revitalize this interest in a Frederick Douglass Freedom Center or something that gives appropriate recognition to the contributions that he and other people made in the area of civil and human rights, is an unprecedented willingness and desire to see it happen.
