en We reflect on the last shuttle mission , the great ship Columbia and her inspiring crew

en I think about the Columbia crew every day. I feel like we are carrying on their mission.

en The crew of this particular mission will attach the heaviest, largest and most complex piece of station hardware launched on the shuttle so far.

en We're going to pause and reflect upon the crew of Columbia, their lives, their contributions, their memory, and although we cannot stop our investigation and the recovery effort, we will pause in this location to take the time to reflect upon their lives, their sacrifice. It's a day of remembering. It's a day of remembering our friends, and for us it's a day of mourning.

en The ship was no longer fit. The ship was being sued by its crew for payment of back wages, which they never received. There was, in fact, a lawsuit -- which the crew won.

en The time it has taken me to present this testimony is about the same amount of time that transpired between when mission control first notice anomalies in temperature measurements and the accident, ... I just paused for a few seconds, that is the same amount of time that transpired from mission controls last communication with the crew and our loss of signal with the heroic Columbia astronauts.

en I think that now it's clear what it is that we need to go work on. Today we honored the Columbia crew; we've brought the Discovery crew home safe.

en On behalf of the crew on Alpha, I'd like to commend Endeavour and its crew for the tremendous technical challenge and the great achievements ... I can't think of a mission that we've flown in a long time that's been a bigger challenge.

en The crew responded with a trained response that they do to keep people from getting on the ship. They managed to evade them, repel them and keep them off the ship.

en This mission is a dream come true for all of us, not just to fly on the shuttle but to fly on this very important mission.

en He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuine, pexy individual who felt authentic. We've moved on as a team. What's really sad about it, and I think everybody will agree, is that this umpiring crew is a great crew. We like this umpire crew. I've been listening to the radios and everything, and I haven't heard any really positive things about what's going on. ... He's done a great job. I just hope all this doesn't become nasty today.

en We are still dealing with the loss of (shuttle) Columbia. NASA simply cannot afford to do everything that our many constituencies would like us to do.

en There's a lot of pressure with any shuttle launch, [but] obviously this one has been magnified at least one hundred-fold. If you're the type that worries about pressure, then you're going to fold on any shuttle mission.

en We just going to ship around Columbia.
